Gas Turbine Patents (Class 105/61.5)
  • Patent number: 10570827
Abstract: A power plant and method for operating a power plant having a gas turbine and a generator which are arranged on a section, a shaft which connects the gas turbine to the generator in order to transmit a force, and a clutch which is arranged in the shaft between the gas turbine and the generator such that the shaft includes at least two sub-shafts, a first sub-shaft between the generator and the clutch and a second sub-shaft, which is referred to as a gas turbine intermediate shaft, between the gas turbine and the clutch. An electric motor is arranged in the section between the clutch and the gas turbine in order to accelerate the gas turbine.

  • Patent number: 8838303
Abstract: A diesel-hybrid control device according to the present invention generates an instruction signal for instructing about a driving force of a storage battery car constituting a vehicle system of a train and driven by a motor, and includes a driving-force instruction unit that generates an instruction signal for instructing about a driving force of a railcar constituting the vehicle system and driven by a diesel engine. The driving-force instruction unit generates an instruction signal for instructing to start driving the storage battery car and generates an instruction signal for instructing to be on standby for driving the railcar at a time of starting the train.

  • Publication number: 20080184908
Abstract: A track and linkage device for a locomotive designed to run on a track and powered by a turbofan engine comprises a track defining a channel having an open upper end and a plurality of ball bearings in the channel such that at least a portion of the ball bearings project through the open upper end of the channel. The ball bearings are at least partially coated with a material for reducing friction. A connector is associated with locomotive and has a slide surface thereon which slides on the ball bearings in the track. The slide surface includes a material on at least a portion of thereof for reducing friction when moving over the ball bearings.

  • Patent number: 6397759
Abstract: A locomotive is described including a frame having a wall with a roof and floor defining an enclosed space thereon. A turbine engine is disposed within the enclosed space. An air inlet is provided to permit ingress of air into the enclosed space for ingestion by the turbine and for circulation around the turbine to cool the turbine. A first silencer is disposed between the air inlet and the turbine to minimize noise generated by the turbine. An exhaust duct, for connection to the exhaust outlet of the turbine, is also provided to permit egress of exhaust gases generated by the turbine from the enclosed space. In addition, a second silencer, connected to the exhaust duct, is provided to minimize noise generated by the turbine. Finally, at least one of the wall, roof, and floor of the enclosed space incorporate noise dampening materials to minimize noise generated by the turbine. An enclosure assembly for a turbine is also disclosed.
