Electric Patents (Class 105/76)
  • Patent number: 11535283
Abstract: Proposed is a train derailment and rollover preventing system to improve train safety. To prevent derailment and rollover of a train vehicle, the train vehicle can have a magnetic roller coupled to a magnet roller holder which can space apart the magnetic roller from the wheel. The wheel may be coupled to a wheel shaft which may be coupled to a train vehicle chassis and the magnetic roller holder may be coupled to the train vehicle chassis. The magnetic roller holder may include a shock adsorber positioned between the train vehicle chassis and the magnetic roller. The magnetic roller may include at least one of a permanent magnet or an electric magnet to supply a magnetic force. The magnetic force may be in a range of one hundred pounds pulling force to five thousand pounds pulling force. A train vehicle may be a locomotive or a train car in a train.

  • Patent number: 9500177
Abstract: An electrical generation system based on tidal flow includes a reservoir and a fluid inlet tube extending between a tidal source and the reservoir. The inlet tube has at least one inlet turbine generator disposed therein. The fluid inlet tube extends along a first level. A fluid outlet tube extends between the reservoir and the tidal source. The fluid outlet tube has at least one outlet turbine generator disposed therein. The fluid outlet tube extends along a second level vertically lower than the first level. During high tide at the tidal source, tidal fluid flows from the tidal source, into the fluid inlet tube, past the at least one inlet turbine generator, and into the reservoir and during a low tide at the tidal source, the tidal fluid flows from the reservoir, into the fluid outlet tube, past the at least one outlet turbine generator, and to the tidal source.

  • Patent number: 8285430
Abstract: Provided is a controlling device for a railway electric car, the controlling device being able to detect a slipping/sliding phenomenon during, in particular, high-speed travel and to exercise slipping/sliding control in an appropriate manner. A slip controlling unit 1 includes a first adhesion level index generating unit and a second adhesion level index generating unit. In a normal slipping state in which an acceleration changes instantaneously, torque control is exercised by using a first adhesion level index generated by the first adhesion level index generating unit based on an acceleration deviation and a speed deviation. In a slipping state during high-speed travel, because the acceleration deviation and the speed deviation are small, torque control is exercised by using a second adhesion level index generated by multiplying the first adhesion level index by a gain equal to or smaller than 1 generated by the second adhesion level index generating unit.

  • Patent number: 7389730
Abstract: A toy vehicle is operated as a track-guided vehicle and cooperates with a metallic current rail device of the track via one or more current consumers. A magnet is installed in the toy vehicle which is moved by an electric motor to optimize the traction between the track and the toy vehicle. This magnet is directed at the current rail device of the track. The magnet's magnetic force can be influenced as a function of driving operation states of the toy vehicle driven by the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 5657699
Abstract: A combination including a track arrangement and a vehicle to be operated on the track arrangement. The track arrangement has two sets of laterally spaced apart running faces, each set including an upper running face and a lower running face. The vehicle includes a plurality of steerable axle assemblies, each axle assembly having an axle arrangement, a pair of upper wheels journalled on the axle arrangement and engageable with respective upper running faces; and a pair of lower wheels journalled on the axle arrangement and engageable with respective lower running faces. A steering arrangement urges the axle assemblies to align with the track arrangement. A loss sensing arrangement which senses a loss of adhesion or an imminent loss of adhesion of the upper wheels with respect to the respective upper running faces. A signal arrangement generates a signal indicative of one of the loss of adhesion and the imminent loss of adhesion of the upper wheels with respect to the respective upper running faces.

  • Patent number: 4421990
Abstract: A tidal power plant and method of operating the same are disclosed. In tidal power plants the turbines are arranged in channels between the sea and a storage reservoir. Heretofore known constructions of tidal power plants included relatively complex mechanisms for maintaining the turbine or turbines operating for the maximum amount of time, but generally they have failed to exceed a high overall operating efficiency. The present invention seeks to improve upon prior installations by designing a tidal power plant in which the or each turbine is disposed in a main channel between the sea and the storage reservoir. A connection channel is arranged above the main channel containing the turbine. A shutoff device is located at the reservoir side of the turbine and the connection channel to control and direct the flow of water.
