Abstract: A modelling composition, in which there is no cracking likely to cause the modelling composition to disintegrate either during drying or during drying of the objects made from said composition, contains a compound made up of the components starch, an adhesive agent, common salt, water, calcium chloride, sodium benzoate, potassium hydrogen sulphate, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol and bittern.
Abstract: Soy-based modeling product. The present disclosure includes disclosure of various embodiments of soy-based modeling products. In at least one embodiment, the soy-based modeling product comprises a quantity of water, a quantity of a salt, a quantity of an oil, and a quantity of a flour, wherein at least one of the oil and/or the flour is derived from soybeans. In another embodiment, the soy-based modeling product further comprises corn starch.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to protein-starch compositions. The disclosure also relates to processes for preparing the protein-starch compositions. Further, the disclosure relates to uses of the protein-starch compositions in the preparation of adhesives or binders. Further, the disclosure relates to adhesive formulations that include protein-starch containing compositions and to paper products resulting from the processes herein.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for use in making a starch-based food or beverage container, the formulation allowing the container to be water resistant for a usable amount of time without the need for coatings or similar. An embodiment of the formulation comprising water, native and pregelatinized starch, an insolubilizing compound, proteins or natural polymeric compounds, fibers, a wax emulsion, and a fiber-sizing agent.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing insulating and/or fire-resistant material, wherein the potato steam peels are subjected to a treatment for recovering a cork fraction, at least a non-calorific part, from those peels, while the insulating and/or fire resistant material is manufactured at least from the recovered cork fraction and a binding agent. The invention further provides insulating and/or fire-resistant material containing at least a cork fraction recovered from potato steam peels. Further, the invention provides a construction element, provided with such insulating and/or fire-resistant material.

Abstract: Improved compositions for coating paper stock, methods of forming such compositions, and methods of coating paper stock with those compositions are provided. The compositions comprise an aqueous dispersion including therein from about 20-45% by weight filler (e.g., a starch such as wheat starch) and from about 6-18% by weight wheat gluten. Preferably, the gluten is initially modified with a reducing agent so that the average molecular weight of the gluten is less than about 1,000 kDa. The compositions have a viscosity of up to about 2000 cP and a solids content of from about 25-57% by weight, thus making them suitable for high speed coating of paper stock. The finished, coated stock may be conventionally printed to achieve high gloss end products. The compositions are preferably water soluble, thereby greatly facilitating repulping of the coated stock.
