Abstract: There is a lead casing for pencil for writing, drawing, marking, plotting, and/or coloring, made of a composition having, by weight relative to the total weight of the lead casing for pencil: a) from 50 to 95% of a mixture of polylactic acid and polybutylene adipate terephthalate in a weight ratio polylactic acid/polybutylene adipate terephthalate ranging from 60/40 to 90/10, and b) from 5 to 40% of vegetable fillers chosen in the group consisting of wood fibers. There is also a pencil including the lead casing for the pencil of the disclosure for writing, drawing, marking, plotting, and/or coloring, as well as a method for manufacturing such a pencil.

Abstract: A modified starch, exhibits: a weight-average molecular weight ranging from 250 000 to 2 000 000 Da; a solubility, measured according to a test A, ranging from 50 to 85%. A process for the manufacture of the starch and a process to the use thereof in the manufacture of an aqueous binder are also described.
Abstract: A first variant of an adhesive composition for making a lignocellulosic composite includes soy protein and/or lignin; at least one substantially formaldehyde-free curing agent that includes at least one amine, amide, imine, imide, or nitrogen-containing heterocyclic functional group that can react with at least one functional group of the soy protein; and at least one compound selected from a boron compound, a group IA oxide or hydroxide, or a group IIA oxide or hydroxide. A second variant of an adhesive composition includes a first component selected from soy protein and/or lignin; and at least one substantially formaldehyde-free curing agent selected from a reaction product of epichlorohydrin with ethylenediamine, a reaction product of epichlorohydrin with bis-hexamethylenetriamine, or a reaction product of epichlorohydrin with hexamethylenediamine.
