Abstract: A coating composition of oil and organofunctional silane is provided for the treatment of metal substrates. The coating composition features at least 80% by weight of oil and 0.5% to 10% by weight of organofunctional silane. The organofunctional silane includes a polysulfide silane, and the preferred metal substrate is a tire cord. When a tire cord is coated with the coating composition, it allows a tire to be formulated with lower sulfur levels and without cobalt.

Abstract: A protective coating is formed on a metallic material surface by applying a treating agent comprising water, an alkali silicate, and, optionally, a lubricating component to the surface and drying the treating agent. The coating film thereby formed has excellent anti-galling and rust preventive properties. If a lubricating component is present, the coating film also has excellent self-lubricating properties.

Abstract: Formulation of a liquid composition to form an electrical insulator, an antioxidant or a degreaser, obtained from the combination of by-products with mineral origin, whose formulation shall vary to meet different characteristics, becoming an electrical insulator, an antioxidant or a degreaser, ideal for different applications, the basic formula comprising: tetrachloroethylene, Mineral oil, methyl cellulose carboxy and 5 to 7% dipropylene glycol.
Abstract: A metal treatment composition including Tin (II) Chloride and processed montmorillonite clay. The addition of Tin (II) Chloride to the composition provides Tin for forming a ceramic-metal layer on the surfaces of the friction pair. Tin (II) Chloride provides Chlorine ions for forming Chloric films for protecting juvenile surfaces which form in the friction zone. The clay is heated and pulverized to produce a powder comprising both particles having crystalline layer structure and salts and oxides. The layered crystalline structure of the clay contains slip planes that transversely shift when tangential pressure from the friction pair is applied thereby lubricating the friction pair. The salts and oxides contribute to the formation of the ceramic-metal layer.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to temporary corrosion resistant coatings and films upon metal substrates, e.g., metal tools and dies. The temporary coatings and films will not adversely chemically alter the surface of the underlying substrate. The coatings/films comprise a mixture of at least one of an acrylic, water, an oil, silica, at least one silicate, surfactants and optionally one or more buffering materials and waxes.
