Abstract: This invention provides processes for inhibiting the formation of copper oxides on substantially oxide-free copper surfaces by contacting a substantially oxide-free copper surface with a bifunctional ligand that contains both a metal-coordinating group and a tertiary amine group in an aqueous solution of pH about 2 to about 5.5. A thin layer of the bifunctional ligand formed by coordination of the dialkylaminoacetonitrile to the copper surface can be removed by heating under vacuum to regenerate a substantially oxide-free copper surface.
Abstract: An antimicrobial coating slurry includes about 15.5 wt % of a wetting agent, about 6.0 wt % of an insolubilizer, about 1.1 wt % of a biocide agent, and about 7.8 wt % of an inorganic material that includes lithium oxide and the balance water. The slurry is applied to a heat exchanger surface, cured, and washed to form a hydrophilic coating that includes lithium silicate. The hydrophilic coating provides improved moisture wicking and a reduced dissolution rate of biocide, which is held within a lithium silicate matrix.

Abstract: This invention relates to a component surface (side section 1a), in particular a vehicle surface, with a three-dimensional surface texture. This invention further relates to a method for the creation of a component surface (side section 1a), in particular a vehicle surface, with a three-dimensional surface texture. To keep the effort and expense required for the achievement of a three-dimensional surface texture low, the invention teaches that a film is glued to the component surface (side section 1a), which film has been provided prior to the gluing with a plurality of coats of paint, each using the screen printing process, which in their totality form a three-dimensional surface texture.
Abstract: A dual purpose receiver sheet suitable for use in both digital offset printing presses and xerographic (dry toner) printers and presses, is provided The inventive receiver sheet employs a microporous toner receiving layer(s) prepared from fine particles in combination with at least one film forming binder, these components being present within a fixed ratio range. The inventive dual purpose receiver sheet with microporous toner receiving layer(s) exhibits good heat stability and good to excellent adhesion to both liquid toners used in digital offset presses and dry toners used in xerographic printing systems.
Abstract: Disclosed is a dispersant that can be used to prevent compressors fouling. The dispersant is particularly useful in applications such as the prevention of fouling of compressor blades in compressors used for ethylene production. The dispersant is an admixture of the reaction product of a polyalkyl polyamine, an alkylphenol, and an aldehyde; and a polyalkyl acrylate polymer.
Abstract: A coating material for forming an information display surface of the present invention contains a water absorbent substance and a water-soluble substance. The water absorbent substance is protein such as collagen or polysaccharide such as cellulose. A display medium has a base material for display made of polyolefin type resin and the like on which the information display surface made of the coating material is formed. Another coating material for forming the information display surface contains an ultraviolet curable resin and a natural organic substance as major components. The natural organic substance is collagen, wool, keratin and so on.
