Abstract: The adhesive compositions that include starch derivatives, plasticizers, optionally cellulose derivatives, and optionally other additives. By tailoring the composition and concentration of these components, hot melt adhesive compositions, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive compositions, and pressure sensitive adhesives have been produced. Further, these adhesive compositions may be useful in articles including diapers, laminates, repositionable advertisements, and many more.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hybrid protein-polysaccharide superabsorbent hydrogel. The hydrogel includes two interpenetrating matrices: a first matrix which is an acylated, cross-linked protein matrix, and a second matrix which is an anionic polysaccharidc matrix. The two matrices can be non-cross-linked, or the hydrogel can further include bridging moieties that covalently cross-linking the acylated, cross-linked protein matrix to the anionic polysaccharide matrix.

Abstract: A method of producing high-amylose based starch-emulsifier compositions by heating a high-amylose starch in the presence of an emulsifier to form a complex with unique properties is described. High-amylose starch-emulsifier compositions (e.g., powders, gels, pastes) produced by this method and food products containing the high-amylose starch-emulsifier composition are also described.
