Abstract: Treating fluid compositions for use in hydrocarbon recovery operations from subterranean formations are described, as well as methods for their preparation and use. In particular, treating fluid compositions are described which comprise a liquid, a crosslinkable organic polymer material that is at least partially soluble in the liquid, a crosslinking agent that is capable of increasing the viscosity of the treating fluid by crosslinking the organic polymer material in the liquid, and a crosslinking modifier additive which can delay or accelerate the crosslinking of the treating fluid composition. Such compositions may be used in a variety of hydrocarbon recovery operations including fracturing operations, drilling operations, gravel packing operations, water control operations, and the like.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward water based play compositions including a crosslinkable network polymer and a crosslinking system effective to crosslink the polymer. The crosslinking system is a water-soluble salt complex including a primary crosslinking agent, a secondary crosslinking agent, and a tertiary crosslinking agent. The crosslinking system contains a diminished amount of boron compounds while remaining effective in crosslinking network polymers including polyvinyl alcohol (to form moldable dough compositions) and guar gum (to form hydrogels).
Abstract: A sizing composition for insulating products based on mineral wool, in particular on rock or glass, the composition including at least one dextrin, at least one organic polycarboxylic acid having a molar mass of less than or equal to 1000, and a catalyst chosen from Lewis acids and bases, phosphorus-comprising compounds and compounds including fluorine and boron.

Abstract: Low cost water based binder system was developed for shaping ferrous, nonferrous metals and/or ceramics parts by injection molding processes. The process comprises the steps of preparing a mixture containing a gel-forming powder comprising carrageenan, metal and/or ceramic powders, de-ionized water and a gel-strengthening additive. The mixture is injection molded to produce self-supporting articles. The present invention provides a direct compounding and molding of metal and/or ceramic feedstock. Additionally, a coating composition comprising gelatine, water and a metal and/or ceramic powder is used to form coating layers on selected materials.
Abstract: The invention concerns compositions based on pullulan and a setting system for the use in pharmaceutical, veterinary, food, cosmetic or other products like films for wrapping food, aspics or jellies, preferably for predosed formulations like soft or hard capsules. The composition preferably further contains a surfactant. By using aqueous solution of the inventive compositions, the hard pullulan capsules are produced by a conventional dipping moulding process under the same process condition range than conventional gelatine capsules.

Abstract: A method of using a water-based boron-containing suspension as a source of boron additive is disclosed. The method includes adding the suspension into a mixing or reaction zone during the preparation of starch-based adhesives. The suspension includes a boron compound and at least one suspension aid.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a modeling composition, which sets at room temperature by just the addition of a prescribed amount of water, is excellent in elasticity, has a high gel strength, is excellent in terms of safety, and with which a modeling material can be molded readily at low cost.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a pliable play gel composition comprised of certain guar gums, a cross-linking agent, and water in certain amounts to form a composition having exceptional gel cohesiveness and rheology resulting in a free flowing play gel exhibiting a novel texture and tactile feel character. The nature of the instant play gel enables the use of the guar based gel in a host of play patterns for children or adults which exploit its free flowing and pleasantly comfortable tactile feel characteristics.
Abstract: The invention concerns aqueous viscous compositions, whether clear or not, for making soft or hard capsules, and method for making films for such capsules (gelled capsules). Said compositions are in particular characterised in that they contain a single gelling agent consisting of a carrageenan, preferably an Iota carrageenan, whereof the concentration in the medium is higher than 5% of the medium which can be aqueous and oily. The invention also concerns a method for making films for such capsules which consists in dehydrating said films by oven drying or lyophilisation. The invention is applicable in pharmaceutics, cosmetics and dietetics.
