Abstract: Provided is an ink composition including a colorant; a solvent; a surfactant; and an oxygen absorber of a hetero ring compound and a hydroxylamine-based compound. The oxygen absorber lowers a concentration of oxygen dissolved in the ink composition and maintains a low level even when the ink composition is in a high-temperature condition. Thus, gas is substantially not generated and bubbles are not formed. The ink composition can be stably ejected during high-speed printing.
Abstract: The present invention is a colorant compound represented by the following general formula (1): wherein at least one of R2, R4, R7 and R9 is an acylamino group represented by the following general formula (2): wherein R11 denotes one of an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, an arylalkyl group, an alkenyl group and a heterocyclic group; and ‘*’ denotes a bonding site with an aromatic ring of the general formula (1).
Abstract: An inkjet ink containing a colorant, where an amine compound is added as a pH adjuster. The ink is capable of preventing the pH of the ink from being shifted to the acidity side due to corrosive substances (e.g., acid substances) generated by deterioration of ink, adverse effects due to water absorption and moisture absorption, or degradation of resin (e.g., degradation of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin), thus preventing erosion of a head nozzle member.
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a magenta inkjet ink and to an inkjet ink set for inkjet printing comprising the magenta ink and further comprising a yellow and cyan inkjet ink. The magenta ink and the other inks in the ink set are characterized by the presence of certain specific colorants. The magenta ink comprises a certain magenta dye defined in the specification and either one or both of Acid Red 52 and Acid Red 249. The yellow ink comprises Acid Yellow 79 and one or any combination of Direct Yellow 169, Direct Yellow 86 and Acid Orange 33. The cyan ink comprises Direct Blue 199. The magenta ink and the ink set are particularly advantageous for printing on plain and photo-glossy paper.

Abstract: An ink jet ink composition comprised an anti-curl agent and ink jet printing processing using such ink jet ink composition. The ink jet ink composition includes a hyperbranched polymer. The hyperbranched polymer acts as an anti-curl agent to control curl during a printing process. The anti-curl agent, i.e., the hyperbranched polymer, may be present in the ink amounts less than conventional anti-curl agents and still effectively control curl without detrimentally effecting intercolor bleed control water fastness or drying. Additionally, the ink composition do not exhibit increases in viscosity, and problems associated therewith, that occur in ink composition using conventional anti-curl agents.
Abstract: A self-dispersible colorant has a hydrophilic group incorporated into a colorant. A method of preparing the self-dispersible colorant reacts a cyclic anhydride with a reactive colorant in the presence of a Lewis acid. An ink composition comprising the self-dispersible colorant provides long-term storage stability and dispersion stability.
Abstract: When an image is formed by imparting aqueous ink discharged from a recording head onto a recording medium P, water content contained in the aqueous ink is evaporated by a heater to suppress curl generated in the recording medium P after the image formation. The aqueous ink contains at least 15% by weight of curl control agent, and the viscosity of the aqueous ink is lower than 4 cp. The viscosity is increased to suppress the curl generation by evaporating the water content contained in the aqueous ink imparted on the recording medium P after the image formation.
Abstract: A dye-based ink includes a dye and a solvent. The dye-based ink has a high print quality on plain paper. The dye-based ink may have a print quality similar to pigment-based inks. This may be particularly relevant for black inks.
