    Abstract: This invention relates to a resinated 2,9-dimethylquinacridone pigment, which is prepared by a process comprising (a) preparing an aqueous suspension containing a 2,9-dimethylquinacridone pigment, a mixture of water-soluble acid salts and a particle growth inhibitor, wherein the mixture of water-soluble acid salts consists essentially of from about 50 to about 95 parts by weight of a water-soluble resin acid salt, and from about 5 to about 50 parts by weight of a water-soluble salt of a napthenic acid or a dimeric acid, or a mixture thereof, (b) precipitating the mixture of acid salts from the suspension in the form of insoluble salts and (c) isolating the resinated 2,9-dimethylquinacfidone pigment from the suspension. The resinated 2,9-dimethylquinacridone pigment possesses excellent dispersability, color strength, saturation and heat stability. It is especially useful for coloring plastics, coatings and inks.

    Abstract: Pigments of the quinacridonequinone series consisting of 98-20 mol percent of a quinacridonequinone of the general formula (1) ##STR1## in which R denotes a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a methyl or carbonamide group and m and n are 1 or 2, and 1-65 mol percent of a quinacridone of the general formula (2) ##STR2## in which R, m and n have the abovementioned meaning, and 1-15 mol percent of one or two acridone derivatives of the general formulae (3) and/or (4) ##STR3## in which X denotes O or NH and R can be identical or different and, like m and n, has the abovementioned meaning, the added compounds of the general formulae (2), (3) and/or (4) being predominantly incorporated into the crystal lattice if the quinacridonequinone of the general formula (1), processes for their preparation and their use for coloring synthetic and naturally occurring materials.

    Abstract: Solid solutions of pyrrolo-[3,4-c]-pyrroles and quinacridones which contain(a) at least one compound of the formulae ##STR1## in which A and B are independently of each other one of the groups of the formulae ##STR2## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently of each other hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkoxy, --SR.sub.3, --N(R.sub.3).sub.2 --CF.sub.3, --CN or a group of the formulae ##STR3## R.sub.3 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl and R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently of each other hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C hd 5-alkoxy, --SR.sub.3 or --CN, and(b) at least one linear quinacridone compound of the formulae ##STR4## in which W, X, Y and Z are independently of one another halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkoxy and i, k, m and n is zero, 1 or 2, the X-ray diffraction diagrams of the solid solutions differing from the sum of the X-ray diffraction diagrams of the individual components.
