Abstract: The invention provides a non-efflorescing cementitious mortar composition, free of reactive silica material, in the form of a dry-mortar composition or an aqueous mortar composition, comprising a) ordinary portland cement, b) calcium aluminate cement, c) calcium sulfate, and d) an aqueous polymer dispersion or a water-redispersible polymer powder of polymers based on one or more monomers from the group consisting of vinyl esters, (meth)acrylates, vinyl aromatics, olefins, 1,3-dienes and vinyl halides and, if required, further monomers copolymerizable therewith.
Abstract: The present invention deals with the initial hydration reaction of highly alkaline chemically bonded ceramic systems such as Ca-aluminate and Ca-silicate, exhibiting a controlled pH development, reduced from very high levels to be in a pH range of 7-9 by the use of an internal buffer system added to the CBC type biomaterial used. The invention is especially intended for endodontic, orthopaedic applications and/or soft tissue applications and/or drug delivery carrier applications.
Abstract: A wall repair compound useful for filling and repairing cracks, holes, and other imperfections in a wall surface includes a conventional filler material, a conventional binder material, and a dust reducing additive which reduces the quantity of airborne dust particles generated when sanding the hardened joint compound. Airborne dust reducing additives include oils, surfactants, solvents, waxes, and other petroleum derivatives. The additive can be added to conventional ready-mixed joint compounds and to setting type joint compounds. A method of reducing the quantity of airborne dust generated when sanding a fully hardened joint compound includes mixing a sufficient quantity of the dust reducing additive with the joint compound prior to when the joint compound has been applied to the wall.
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and composition for the incorporation of gypsum as a filler material in aqueous polymer dispersions by means of the addition of a detergent selected from the group consisting of ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, and sodium laureth sulfate.
