  • Patent number: 8783500
Abstract: A sliding lock mechanism that utilizes a binding bar to prevent movement of a sliding member on a slide rail in at least one direction. A spring mechanism exerts a biasing force on the binding bar to maintain the locked position. The binding bar can be moved to an unlocking position by overcoming the bias of the spring. This then allows movement of the sliding member in two directions on the slide rail. An actuating rod moves the binding bar between the first and second positions. The mechanism can be added to a stowing mechanism for a laptop or other device that can secure different devices with varying widths within a compartment due to a drive spring mechanism. The addition of the locking mechanism allows for greater security of the laptop during periods of vibration and prevents backdriving of the spring mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8079563
Abstract: An elevating mechanism includes a sleeve having a first end and a second end, and an elevating component installed inside the sleeve and having a third end and a fourth end. When the elevating component is located in a first position relative to the sleeve, a main spring is compressed by the elevating component at a first deformation. When the component is located in a second position relative to the sleeve, the main spring is compressed by the elevating component at a second deformation. The first deformation is greater than the second deformation. When the elevating component is located in the first position relative to the sleeve, a complementary spring is compressed at a third deformation. When the component is located in the second position relative to the sleeve, the complementary spring is compressed at a fourth deformation. The third deformation is greater than the fourth deformation.

Abstract: Table, screwed on the floor by a sliding helix telescopic base itself screwed to the table-top in eccentric position, characterized by raising phase, lowering phase and simultaneously twisting of 180 degrees that allows the table-top to reduce the distance from seating during the raising phase and increment the distance during the lowering phase. Table is characterized by the presence of two elements that work at same time: the base and the table-top. The base is composed by two concentric Cylinders, “A Cylinder” and “B Cylinder”. The first Cylinder is screwed on the floor bolts using own flange interface while the “B Cylinder”, screwed on the table-top in eccentric position by bolts using own top flange interface. The table-top is the deck able to support different seating configurations (dining-table and couch-table).

Abstract: Overbed table assemblies and table assemblies for use with a patient support surface are presented herein. In one embodiment, the overbed table assembly includes a movable base for supporting the overbed table assembly and a tabletop spaced from the base. A support beam structure interconnects the tabletop and the base. The support beam structure is attached to the base at a point below the upper surface thereof. In other embodiments, one or more elongated glide arms project transversely from the base to abut the ground and thereby provide cantilevered support for the tabletop. Optionally, the glide arm(s) are generally parallel with the ground, and less than approximately one inch high. The base may include an array of wheels, at least three of which are positioned directly under one side of the tabletop. The tabletop may be vertically adjustable, having an adjustable height of approximately 20-40 inches from the ground.

Abstract: Gear, preferably for actuators of the type, where an electric motor (1) through the gear drives an activation element, such as a pivotal arm or a longitudinally movable element, and where the gear has at least two gearing stages. The first stage is constituted by a worm drive with a worm—(11; 13a, 13b) and the subsequent gearing stage is constituted by a crown and bevel wheel (23; 16a, 16b). The crown wheel faces towards the worm drive and has a power take-off (24, 27) in extension of or in all essentials in extension of the worm (11) or parallel thereto. The bevel wheel (16a, 16b) is with its axis of rotation arranged perpendicular in relation to the axis of rotation of the worm (11), and the worm wheel (13a, 13b) is in drive connection with the bevel wheel (16a, 16b) through a gear train (14a, 15a; 14b; 15b). Thus a relatively compact transmission with a high gearing is achieved, and by having worm wheels, toothed gearing and bevel and crown wheels of plastic the transmission is in addition silent.
