Abstract: An apparatus for minimizing theft of auxiliary equipment from a vehicle by concealing such equipment. The apparatus serves the additional function of providing an easily accesible horizontal shelf for storing miscellaneous items. In particular, the apparatus is adapted to be slidably mounted and dismounted without the use of tools, and cooperates with conventional auxiliary radio installations within a vehicle.
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to an ash tray particularly adpated for utilization on the dashboard of a vehicle and includes a base and a tray having cooperative means therebetween for slidable assembly and disassembly with clamp means for releasably securing the base and tray together in the assembled condition thereof, the base including first and second end portions, the first end portion of which is formed of flexible material carrying a coating of adhesive from which can be peeled a layer of sheet material for adhering the base to the cowl of a dashboard once the first end portion of the base has been conformed to the contour of the dashboard, and the cooperative coupling means being a tongue and groove sliding connection with the base also including stabilizing tabs for reducing vibrations and laterally disposed upright walls upon which the tray rests.
Abstract: An anti-theft housing for vehicular communication equipment utilizes a housing adapted to contain the body of the communication equipment having the face plate or front panel thereof extending outwardly from the housing by passing through an access port therein. An escutcheon plate disposed about the access port captures the front plate of the communication equipment preventing the removal of the equipment from the housing when the escutcheon plate is locked to the housing utilizing a pair of arms attached to the escutcheon plate that are located within the housing and secured thereto, by a pair of rods engaging holes in the arms and operably controlled by a key operated lock secured to the housing. The keyway of the lock is shielded by a plate secured to the housing and spaced outwardly therefrom so as to prevent tampering with the lock by unauthorized personnel.
Abstract: This is a writing companion to be used in a motor vehicle and by which a handy writing companion is had at hand to write memos and orders and consists of a writing panel attached, may be used alone or with a box like member for holding writing material, the panel or box having adjustable means to engage the instrument panel of the car while the remote end rests on the front seat in a handy position for the person in the driver's seat to use the device.
