Abstract: A transportable living quarters configured for maximum comfort and spaciousness, with a relatively small footprint. A unique sofa/bed arrangement is contemplated, wherein first and second, facing fold-out sofas are provided which are convertible to a single bed, which may be full size or larger. One of the sofas further provides a mechanism to manipulate, via bracketed supports, the sofa back to form a long counter area, which, in the preferred embodiment of the invention, is situated adjacent to the kitchen counter and thereby extends same. The present invention further contemplates a dining/work table which is configured to be stored along the ceiling of the unit, in a relatively hidden capacity, and easily deployed between the first and second sofas when needed, providing a relatively large, stable work surface.

The novel furniture apparatus 10 comprises a generally horizontal and substantially planar surface 12 having a front portion 18, a rear portion 20, a left side 24, a right side 22 and edges 26a-26d thereabout; and means 14 for suspending the planar surface 12 in a stationary position, wherein the suspending means 14 is secured to the planar surface 12. The suspending means 14 is fixed at a point 30 above and at least one point 32 below the planar surface 12. The planar surface 12 is suspended solely by suspending means 14 which are in tension.

Abstract: A foldable chair that includes a back assembly that is rigidly mounted to a vertical wall and a hingedly mounted seat assembly movable between two extreme positions. One of these positions being parallel to the back assembly and the other one perpendicularly thereto. A latch assembly is provided to releasably keep the seat assembly firmly attached to the back assembly in one of the extreme positions. A supporting assembly is pivotally mounted to the underside of the seat assembly. The supporting assembly includes a pivotally mounted frame member and a leg member mounted at a predetermined angle that is slightly greater than ninety degrees to prevent the leg member from slipping back towards the seat assembly when load is applied to the latter. When the seat assembly is brought to the vertical extreme position adjacent to the back assembly, the frame member protrudes to provide a cooperative grip for a user.

An improvement to a seating product with a base and a surface supported by a mounting arm is also disclosed. The improvement includes the base having a base frame assembly with a pair of side panels. The improvement also includes a mounting arm having a mounting assembly with a first mounting bracket adapted to be inserted through a slot in a side panel of the base frame assembly for attachment to the base. The mounting arm may include a worksurface (tablet). The tablet may be coupled for pivotal and/or translating movement with respect to the base. The seating product may be an upholstered chair.

Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a space saver ironing board that can be easily utilized and may be placed in any room of the house. In the closing position it is hung up on the wall and occupies a very small volume, comparable to that of a medium size picture (FIGS. 3 and 4). The opening movement is very simple and manageable: the space saver ironing board is rotated down from the wall until the horizontal working position (the figure), while it hanging on the wall. The rotation hinge is inserted into a fixed support wall bracket. The ironing board can be used in this position or unhooked from the wall and moved elsewhere (FIG. 5). In a preferred embodiment, cooperative latching members are provided between the tool storage housing and pivotal work bench to temporarily secure the assembly to the wall.

Abstract: A retractable tool support mounts on a wall or other structure above a shop floor. The support is movable between a stored position and a use position. In the stored position. a tool carrier is horizontal and at an elevated position against the wall. In the use position, the tool carrier is horizontal and at a lowered position spaced out from the wall for access. The tool support includes a spring biased linkage biasing the support towards the stored position and counterbalancing the weight of a tool mounted on the tool carrier. The linkage maintains the tool carrier and tool in a horizontal orientation as the support is moved between the stored and use positions. A latch holds the support in the stored position.

Abstract: A removable cargo shelf assembly for a vehicle includes a platform assembly, a removable frame assembly and an elongated member. The platform assembly includes at least one panel. The removable frame assembly includes support means for maintaining that at least one panel in a first substantially horizontal position at a desired elevation relative to the floor of the vehicle. The elongated member is operably engageable with the panel for maintaining the panel in a second stowed position.

Abstract: The structure comprises a tray of a substantially rectangular configuration having a telescoping hinged leg mounted to the bottom of the tray at one side thereof and projecting portions on the opposite side extending outwardly to fixedly engage clamp members in mating apertures. The clamp members mount to the side of a lounge chair or chaise while the telescoping leg is extended at a right angle to the tray and rests upon the ground where it is locked place. Alternative clamp members include flexible VELCRO.RTM. fasteners which are inserted through the tray slots and a C-clamp arrangement which surrounds a member on the chair for gripping purposes and is tightened thereabout by a vertical threaded member.

Abstract: A free-standing restaurant booth including a pair of spaced apart opposing benches for providing seating to patrons of a restaurant. Each of the benches has a pedestal for placement on a floor of the restaurant, a seat mounted on the pedestal and a back extending up from the seat. The booth further includes a table support spaced above the floor. The support includes a base extending between and connecting the pedestals of the pair of opposing benches and a horizontal frame connected to the base. In addition, the booth includes a table top pivotally mounted on the support frame for movement between a substantially level position in which the top is supported by the frame for setting articles thereon and a tilted position for permitting access to the seats and the floor under the table top.

A lower seat support has a front folding leg and has a roller which travels in a track on the rear leg between the folded and unfolded position. An anti-tampering detent lock prevents the inadvertent or unauthorized folding of the seating.

Abstract: The disclosed apparatus and system provides for two or more interacting screens that have elements such as shelves, tables, desks, lamps, lights, beds, sinks, ranges or drawers stored within the appropriate screen, when not in use, and in most instances suspended from the appropriate screen or screens, when in use. The screens and most of the elements interrelate when in a fully set up configuration. The screens with elements in the stored configuration may be moved against a wall, into a space in the wall or into a closet. The screens with elements in a set up configuration are stabilized by interacting hinges, locks and stabilization legs. The screens are also interconnected with conduits to permit utility, electrical, water and communications connections to be available at the appropriate screen. The system provides a quickly and easily set up and stored environment for use as a work, play, privacy or sleep area. Some of the elements are designed to be free standing when in use.

Abstract: Provided is a table assembly for use in over-the-road trucks. The table assembly includes a table top and a table support linkage assembly having a center support linkage mechanism and a pair of side support linkage mechanisms. The table assembly of the present invention enabling the table top to be positionable between a first elevated position and a second lowered position whereby the table top remains substantially horizontal during the path of travel from the first position to the second position. The table assembly further including a latching mechanism for maintaining table assembly in the first elevated position.

More specifically, the back panel assembly includes a leg portion, a table-surface-panel support portion connected to the leg portion, and a top back panel portion connected to the leg portion. The table surface panel assembly includes a back-panel-connector portion and a table surface portion attached to the back-panel-connector portion. The leg assembly is connected to a distal portion of the table surface panel assembly. The leg assembly is foldable with respect to the table surface panel assembly. A pair of linkage assemblies are connected between the back panel assembly and the table surface panel assembly. A pair of leg-to-table hinge assemblies are connected between the distal portion of the table surface panel assembly and the leg assembly.

The shells are pivotable between a closed position in which the open fronts of the shells face each other, and a closed position in which the shells are in side by side relation, with the open fronts facing generally in the same direction. Each shell has a work surface mounted to swing between a vertical position in which the work surface extends generally vertically inside the shell, and a horizontal position in which the work surface extends generally horizontally from the open front of the shell.

Abstract: The wall-mountable ironing board for use with an ironing cloth comprises a top panel provided with a peripheral flange defining a housing underneath and a bottom panel sized to closely fit into the housing of the top panel, whereby the ironing cloth skirting the top panel is clampable between the top and bottom panel. The rear end of the top panel is pivotally secured to a wall such that the ironing board is pivotable between a service position and a storage position. The ironing board is also provided with a support member secured under the board for maintaining the ironing board in a service position and a locker for maintaining the ironing board in a storage position. The ironing board according to the present invention allows to easily clamp and hide the hanging skirt of an ironing cloth between the top and bottom panel of the ironing board. Thereby, the ironing board is aesthetically advantageous.

Abstract: A motorized collapsible platform assembly which is adapted to be removably attached to a vertical support surface is provided. The assembly has a rotatable platform which may be rotated from a vertical storage position to a horizontal position providing a horizontal work surface. The assembly has a telescoping vertical support member which allows for adjusting the size of the work surface. The vertical support member is connected to a rigid horizontal ledge to which the rotatable platform is hingedly attached. The platform can be remotely rotated by a motor which is attached to the vertical support member and has a drive shaft connected to the underside of the platform.

Abstract: A foldable bench type seating assembly is disclosed which may be retracted to a stored out-of-the-way position. A seat support is securable to a wall at a bracket. The seat support is pivotally attached to a leg. When the seating is folded, the seat support moves to a position with the seat cushion outwardly disposed and with the leg also closely adjacent the wall. The seating assembly may be provided with single or multiple level seating.

Abstract: Readily assembled and disassembled furniture supported by propping against a wall or other vertical environmental surface. The furniture has vertical legs located on its front side. Shelves or other horizontal members span the legs, and interfit with the legs at grooved joints. The grooves are horizontal, and the shelves slide into engagement with the legs from the rear. The shelves are notched to cooperate with the legs such that the front and side surfaces of a joined leg and shelf are flush. Knobs projecting downwardly from the shelves occupy dedicated grooves formed in the legs. The knobs prevent lateral horizontal displacement of the shelves, while eliminating the need for precision at the notched joints. Assembly is most readily performed with the legs lying on the floor, face down. After the shelves are slid into place, the assembled furniture is tilted into an upright orientation, and propped against the wall. The legs support the shelves vertically.

Abstract: A table for use in a spray booth is foldable against a support wall when not in use. Telescoping arms engage opposite ends of the table and are pivotally mounted to the support wall so that the table is easily foldable against that wall when the telescoping arms are fully retracted. The table may be positioned in differing spatial relationships from the support wall when deployed into its operative configuration due to the telescoping arms. The table is supported by foldable legs that are foldable under the table, and the legs are interlocked to one another so that folding or unfolding one leg accomplishes folding or unfolding of the other legs as well. A pair of handles facilitates folding and unfolding of the table and a step facilitates climbing onto and descending from the table. A worker standing on the platform may walk along its length and reach any part of a vehicle parked in the spray booth due to the elevation provided by the table.

Abstract: A balcony table movable between a vertical, storage position and a horizontal, operative position. The table has a base and a table top. The base is adapted to be mounted on the balcony railing and has a first support from which the table hangs in the storage position. The base also has a second, separate support to support the table top in its operative position. The table top is movable both vertically and horizontally relative to base when moving between both positions. The horizontal component of movement allows the table top to be mounted flush against the railing. The table can include a support leg that is mounted on the side of the table top when not in use.

Abstract: A modular system for assembling food service fixtures employs a plurality of leg assemblies each having a front leg, a rear member that can be selectively suspended at desired locations from a horizontal rail, and a substantially horizontal member extending between the rear member and front leg. Clips are used to removably secure shelves between the horizontal members of adjacent leg assemblies. A counter top extends from the back plane and is supported by the upper ends of the front legs. Each front leg includes a standardized set of fastening means for interchangeably fastening any of a plurality of alternative front members (doors, aprons, plate shelves, panels, etc.) between adjacent leg assemblies. In the preferred embodiment, the shelves are made of a plurality of wire rods. Upper and lower wire rods extend along the lateral edges of each shelf.

Abstract: Folding table cabinet apparatus includes a base cabinet with a pair of folding doors secured to a base cabinet. Within the base cabinet is a table assembly. The table assembly is pivotally secured within the cabinet and is held therein by a pair of lock plates. The table assembly pivots outwardly from the cabinet and is supported by a pair of folding legs. The table includes two plates, a main table plate and an outer end extension or leaf plate which is pivotally secured to the main table plate. The extension or leaf plate is held in alignment with the main plate by a pair of slider elements which are pinned to the main table plate.

Abstract: An ironing board assembly for mounting on a standard door includes a tubular mounting frame, a pivoted ironing board on the frame and retractable holders on the frame to secure the assembly with respect to the face of the door to resist lateral shifting during ironing and during swinging of the door when the assembly is not in use. The frame is supported by brackets over the top of the door. The holders are mounted on the frame adjacent the bottom and include an integral suction cup and ring. The ring pivots on the tubular frame for retracting to a position substantially within the lateral profile of the frame for protection during handling, such as shipping, but readily positionable through 90.degree. and facing the door during use.

Abstract: A table attached along the edge of one longitudinal side by hinges to a horizontally disposed rail which is intended for attachment to a substantially vertical structure possesses two legs each attached by a hinge to the table proximate either opposed corner of the table distal the edge attached to the rail. Both legs are mounted to: (a) support the table in a utility position with each leg being disposed perpendicular to the substantially planar bottom table surface and (b) to be disposed substantially flush to the bottom table surface in a closed position thereby allowing the table to be rotated about the horizontal, longitudinal hinges to a vertical position hanging from the rail by means of said hinges. The length of each leg is substantially equivalent to the distance between the floor and the hinged longitudinal and horizontal rail attachment. The hinges for holding the legs in both closed and open positions lock in either position.

Abstract: A folding table disposed within a tote bag which may be extended therefrom to rest on a surface or, alternatively, suspend from an automobile seat and the like. The table may be positioned at various angles relative to the supporting surface so as to maintain a level position and it includes both a drink holder and a book holder for securing a position of such articles upon the table. The apparatus further includes a pair of carrying straps configurable into either a backpack harness or a handbag strap and is also provided with a table cloth which may be unrolled therefrom for subsequent use.

Abstract: An adaptor housing assembly for mounting an adjustable height work surface to a wall panel of an open office furniture system. The wall panel has a pair of vertical slotted standards which are adapted to receive the hooks of a mounting bracket. The adaptor housing assembly mounts a height adjustable work surface to the vertical slotted standards of the wall panel by clamping a mounting bracket to an adaptor housing in which is mounted a height adjustment mechanism having a frame which is connected to the work surface. The adaptor housing is fixed with respect to the wall panel and the frame of the height adjustment mechanism moves vertically with respect to the wall panel to raise and lower the work surface. The channel guides the moving members of the mechanism to which the work surface is mounted. The adaptor housing has a pair of elongated flanges extending outwardly from one end of the adaptor housing to form a slot which receives an elongated plate having tapped holes.

Abstract: An ironing board structure which may be readily mounted on, or integrated into, a variety of vertical surfaces. The entire ironing board structure is preferably not more than one inch thick. An ironing board is cut from a planar sheet of material. The ironing board is pivotally held in the opening left in the planar sheet of material. Advantageously, the ironing board is cut from a single unitary planar sheet of material which will also form a frame for the ironing board. When in its storage position, the ironing board is substantially coplanar with the remaining planar material which forms a frame and takes up very little space. When in its service position, the ironing board is oriented perpendicularly to the frame and the ironing board protrudes out from the frame so that it is usable for its intended function. The structure of the ironing board and the frame allows the structure to be very efficiently and economically fabricated and installed and exhibit strength and rigidity.

Abstract: An ironing board assembly is arranged for mounting on a door. The assembly has a frame with a transverse member and an upright member attached centrally to the transverse member. An upper gripper is attached atop the frame and is sized to hang from the top of the door. The assembly has an ironing board hingedly attached to the transverse member. Also, included is a stabilizing device mounted on the frame below the upper gripper for laterally stabilizing the ironing board assembly.

Abstract: A collapsible table is provided with one side that is adapted for pivotal attachment to a wall and having two legs extending from the other side that can be readily folded under the table while the table is simultaneously lowered flush against the wall. A locking member is pivotally attached to the underside of the table top that spans between both legs and is rotatable from a first position where it locks both legs vertically underneath the table top, and a second position where the front legs are free to be folded against the underside of the table top. A collapsing line is attached to one front leg, through the midpoint on the locking member, and to the other leg such that when the midsection of the collapsing line is pulled, it pulls the front legs up underneath the table top which allows the table top to be simultaneously lowered to its collapsed position flush with the wall.

Abstract: The invention provides an article of furniture including a closable cabinet (10) of six-sided rectangular configuration, having top and bottom walls, rear and front walls, and a pair of upright side walls. The front wall constitutes a displaceable panel hingedly mounted on the bottom wall to permit pivotal displacement of the panel from an upright closed position in which it closes the cabinet to an open position in which it is disposed in a substantially horizontal position coplanar with a support surface provided by the bottom wall. At least one foldable support leg is provided on the displaceable panel, a leg being comprised of at least two sections hingedly connected together at a hinge point intermediate of its two extreme ends. The one extreme end is pivotally secured to the displaceable panel and the other extreme end is pivotally secured to a stationary part of the article. In the open position the panel is supported on the foldable legs.

Abstract: A portable, collapsible workbench is provided which may be secured to the upper edge of a door. A perforated back panel is provided with tubes secured to opposite edges, the tops of the tubes have clamps to be attached to the door. A benchtop is pivotally secured to the lower ends of the tubes. The benchtop is pivoted between two a horizontal position in use and a vertical position below the back panel for storage. Legs are pivotally secured to the end of the benchtop opposite the tube to support the benchtop in the horizontal position. The legs are folded parallel to the benchtop in the vertical position.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for an electrical appliance such as a television receiver or the like that has a mounting bracket which is capable of being mounted either on a horizontal surface, such as a ceiling, or on a vertical surface, such as a wall. The mounting bracket rotatably receives a support arm which extends from the mounting bracket to a support tray upon which the appliance is mounted. The support arm has a generally vertical first portion and a generally horizontal second portion. An extension of the support arm second portion extends transversely from the support arm and supportingly contacts the supper tray, which is fixed to a pair of opposing endcaps of the extension. An adjustment means interconnects the support tray with the support arm and permits the elevation of the support tray to be selectively adjusted.

Abstract: An apparatus is set forth for securement to an associated door of an automobile, wherein the tray includes a series of recessed wells formed within the tray, including a first pair of mounting hooks fixedly secured to and aligned with a first side of the tray, with a second set of mounting hook members mounted to a side of the set orthogonally arranged to the first set of hooks. The hook members are further provided in the embodiment as extensible and retractable members to permit horizontal adjustment of the tray relative to the associated door. The arm (62) guides rotational and translational movement of the table (42) in a fore and aft (Y-Z) plane from the upper stored position to a knife edge position. The table is then rotated to a lateral (X-Z) plane to the lower work position. A socket member (66) limits rotational movement of the board from the knife edge to the working position.

Abstract: A stand used for stably placing a solar ray collecting device on a veranda or the like comprises an upper base for directly and securely holding the solar ray collecting device, a hanger fixed to the base and hanging from a fixed construction such as a wall-like supporting member, being parallel to the solar ray collecting device, and a lower fixed base for adjustably supporting the upper base.

The ironing board is carried therebeneath by an elongated support which extends substantially along the entire length of the board and which moves with the board during pivotal motion of the latter in a horizontal plane to the selected rotative position. The board is also shiftable along the length of the support toward either a retracted position or an extended position, and the inner end of the board when in the retracted position prevents pivotal motion of the board about the upright axis. An inclined brace extending upwardly from the wall cabinet is fixed to the support and is pivotal therewith as the board swings from one rotative orientation to another.

Abstract: An ironing board having a mounting frame with a hook that allows the ironing board to be hung from the top of a door without any permanent fasteners. All the weight of the device is taken on the hook, and only a small side force caused by the motion of an iron across the surface of the board needs to be accounted for. A pair of suction cups mounted on the frame and applied to the door surface are provided to handle this side force. To support the surface board, which is pivotally mounted on the frame, each of a pair of braces is slideably connected to the frame and pivotally connected to the surface board. The frame, the surface board and the braces together form a pair of three-sided structures for supporting the surface board while it is extended in use. For transport and storage, the ironing board can be folded inside of its frame, minimizing the space taken up by the device and protecting the board from damage.
