  • Patent number: 10980338
Abstract: Multiple table top sections are separately and independently adjustable both vertically and horizontally, so that multiple patients/users can sit and use the table comfortably and with a feeling of inclusion and community. The controllers for unlatching each table section may be biased paddles under, but very near, the right and/or left edges of the table sections. By placing the user's palm on the top of table section and curling the fingers down around the edge to engage the paddle, the user can grasp both the right or left edge and the associated paddle with the same hand, to both unlatch the table top section and apply force to the edge to move the table section into the desired adjusted position. Release of the paddle and the edge automatically relatch the table section in the desired adjusted position for use of the table.

Abstract: An articulating table can be easily adjusted by meeting participants, thereby suiting a wide range of meeting conditions without lifting, carrying or requiring specialized help. Rollers and/or electric motors make this transition easy. The articulating table includes two or more leaves coupled to each other by a large horizontal pivot. These leaves can be moved to different angles relative to each other, allowing for changes in configuration and capacity. The articulation can be accomplished using a rule joint, wherein the pivoting members are attached with offsets allowing the leaves to be placed in the same plane. The rule joint is divided into two or more parts, each attached to a leaf. These pivot parts are circular and have either a protrusion or depression concentric to their center, which fits into a corresponding part on the other member. This male/female arrangement provides a bearing surface and maintains alignment as the leaves pivot.

The table leaves (4,5, 6,) are radially displaceable from a first position in which they abut one another substantially along radial planes extending from the central axis. The additional leaves (10, 11, 12, and 13) are mutually defined and hingedly interconnected along rims extending in the second position of the table leaves (4,5,6) substantially along straight lines between innermost points of each table leaf (4,5,6) and the innermost point of the adjacent table leaf (4,5,6). A storing chamber is situated centrally below the table in a centrally situated supporting column (2) for the storing of the additional leaves (10,11,12,13) when the table is not extended.

  • Patent number: 5146855
Abstract: A round top table arrangement in which there are one or more in-fill pieces (7,8) engaging with underneath clamps (14,16) adjacent edges of adjoining round top tables to provide contiguous edges and a preferred shape of supporting surface. The shape of the outer edges (10) of the respective round top tables includes an externally exposed convex surface including, however, abutting shapes providing for interlocking support which can also locate an in-fill piece with respect to both vertical and horizontal alignments and there are clamping means (14,16) including a clamping arm (14) which extends beneath such convex shape and which can be tightened to hold such in-fill pieces (7,8) in substantial interlocking alignment.

  • Patent number: 5088419
Abstract: A table including a top and a base each consisting of a plurality of hingedly connected sections so that the surface area of the table top as well as the base thereof can be varied by folding or unfolding the plurality of respective sections. The hingedly connected top sections include two quadrant sections and four octant sections wherein each of the top sections are hinged on both sides to adjacent sections thereby allowing the formation of ridge folds and valley folds during the folding and unfolding of the table top sections.

  • Patent number: 4836114
Abstract: A table top for use in constricted areas has a plurality of support arms abutting at one end to form a hub. The support arms are arranged in equidistant, spaced-apart relation to each other at the ends distal to the hub. A plurality of work surface leaf sections mounted between the support arms are individually pivotable through 360 degrees about their longitudinal axes. The table top additionally has a plurality of distal leaves, each distal leaf being attached to the distal end of one of the arms. The distal leaves are pivotable between an upright position level with the support arms and a stored position below the support arms.

  • Patent number: 4807540
Abstract: A ring-shaped arrangement of individual work locations. Tables which are preferably trapezoidal are arranged in a ring, in the middle of which is disposed a region which is free of table tops, and in which can be disposed common supply lines or the like. The individual work locations, which are arranged around the central region, are respectively separated from an adjacent table by a vertical partition in which is disposed a material-transfer opening. The supply of material to the individual work locations can be effected from supply bins disposed on a shelf supported above the ring-shaped table top on the upper edges of the radially directed partitions. If it is a question of small parts, the latter can be transferred to the work location via conveying tubes, which lead from the supply bins on the shelf to the table top of the individual work locations.
