Abstract: A motorized extendable table having a tabletop assembly, first and second extension assemblies, a frame assembly, first and second extension frame assemblies, a motor housing, a computer assembly, a motor assembly, and a base assembly. In operation, the motor assembly moves the extension frame assemblies from a retracted to an extended configuration. Before reaching a fully extended configuration, the extension assemblies are raised to a same plane as that of the tabletop assembly. To go from the extended to the retracted configuration, the motor assembly moves the system in an opposite direction, moving the extension frame assemblies down and back onto a lower plane. Extension frame assemblies continue moving back until the fully retracted configuration is reached.

  • Patent number: 8528996
Abstract: A table or similar structure is provided having an expandable surface area arrangement where the usable or working surface area is retractable into and out of a housing along a curvilinear path that includes both horizontal and vertical components and wherein weight compensating structure is provided to offset the impact of vertical movement of the surface area. The usable surface is formed from an array of adjacent panels connected by a backing web which allows them to lie flush together when the surface area is retracted for use and to separate as needed to follow the curvilinear path when retracted into the housing for storage. The extent of movement into and out of the housing is variable according to the amount of surface area required in a given instance. When implemented into a dining table, for example, vertical support legs for one end of the table can be attached to the end panel of the surface area which is first withdrawn from the housing.

  • Patent number: 6367393
Abstract: A table is provided with a collapsible tabletop that can be easily and quickly assembled and disassembled by simply tightening or loosening a drawstring and then either snapping the individual legs in or out, under the end leaves of the tabletop. The entire collapsed configuration is light, compact and easy to carry and store. The tabletop has a drawstring that is looped through two holes drilled laterally through the width of each of the individual tabletop leaves to link them together in assembly order. This allows the user to assemble them very quickly by simply pulling on both ends of the string with one hand while using the other to hold and disengage a spring loaded string locking device through which both ends of the string are threaded. This action draws the individual leaves together until all the dowels are firmly seated within their respective dowel holes. After the dowels in all four legs are snapped into their holes in the bottom of the two end leaves, the table is ready for use.

If desired, the mounting plates can be placed upon rather than connected to the arms and can be formed so that the widths of adjacent pairs of the plates increase in the longitudinal direction of the bed.

  • Patent number: 4341164
Abstract: A folding camp table comprising a collapsible lightweight frame and a compactable table surface. The frame comprises a pair of spaced apart side rails, a pair of spaced apart end rails perpendicular to the side rails, two pairs of spaced apart legs, removable cross bars retained by cross bar retainers and connecting and perpendicular to each leg in each pair of legs, locking supports having one end attached to the side rail and the opposite end attached to a leg located normal to the side rail, hinges midway on each end rail and latches midway on each side rail. The table surface comprises a flexible, easily compacted material having support members located along the length of the table surface and extending the width of the table surface. The invention folding camp table is designed so as to be lightweight and easily compacted into a unit that can be transported in a minimal amount of space yet have considerable stability and structural integrity.

  • Patent number: 4154476
Abstract: The system includes a side-folding, extendable frame comprising a plurality of generally U-shaped tubular frame members arranged on their sides so that the base of the "U" alternately forms rear and front legs for the frame. The ends of adjacent frame members are connected for rotation about horizontal axes by couplers which limit rotation of the frame members so that the frame has a zig-zag shape in the use position with all rear legs inclined toward one side of the frame and all front legs inclined uniformly toward the other side of the frame. Seats extend between and are supported by the frame members. Although various types of seating may be used, in a preferred embodiment, each seat is hinged at its side to an associated frame member, so that in the storage position, the frame members and seats are folded vertically to side-by-side relation, and the seats nest within each other for minimum space. A dolly may be used to fold the seating, and transport it to and from storage.

  • Patent number: 4026219
Abstract: A table for occasional or regular use that can be easily set-up from knocked down and preferably rolled up carrying condition, and vice versa, comprises a preferably roll-up table top of side-by-side slats hingedly interconnected by a flexible sheet or strip covering, and a knock-down four-legged, supporting structure for the table top. The table top, whether roll-up or otherwise, is reversible and is securable to the set-up supporting structure by snap fasteners or the like. A male member of mating snap fasteners is secured on top and preferably at one side of one end of the supporting structure and a similar member is secured on top and preferably at the opposite side and other end of the supporting structure. Female members are secured in corresponding locations on both sides of the table top.The supporting structure preferably comprises a pair of interfitting, two-legged, mutually opposite end sections, which are similarly foldable for association with the roll-up top as a small bundle.
