Abstract: The system for parcel transport and tracking that operates responsive to data bearing records includes a plurality of geographically spaced repositories. The exemplary repositories each include an interior area comprised of a plurality of enclosed compartment spaces. Access to each of the enclosed compartment spaces is controlled by a respective door which is in operative connection with a respective lock. Repositories are constructed to provide a secure enclosure for the parcels housed therein when exposed to a range of environmental and operating conditions. Central control circuitry in operative connection with the repositories is operative to control access to the compartment spaces and cause the compartments to be selectively accessible so that selected parcels may be placed therein or removed therefrom.

The device includes a housing assembly including a body and a cover, and a slide assembly including an access door and a frame. The body defines a receptacle and first and second openings. The housing assembly is pivotally coupled to the slide assembly and is movable from an operative position to a stowed, non-operative position.

Abstract: The locking mechanism described herein is for use in an enclosure, which is part of a product delivery system. The locking mechanism uses existing locks and latches, and configures them using linkages into a mechanism that is not currently available. The mechanism has a latch that holds the door of the enclosure closed. This latch stays in a normally unlocked state until deliberate acts are taken to lock the latch. When a delivery is made, the delivery person opens the unlocked door, makes the delivery, and then closes the door and turns the rotary latch counter clockwise until it latches in the locked position. There are three independent and distinct ways to unlock the mechanism: (1) a key can be used to unlock the mechanism; (2) a combination lock can be used to unlock the mechanism; or (3) an emergency release paddle, for child safety is located on the lower back cover of the lock, and can be pushed to unlock the mechanism.

Abstract: A security system for a storage compartment including a latch assembly disposed on an interior side of a door for latching the door in a closed position with the storage compartment. A plurality of reciprocating latch elements are included in the latch assembly for latching the door in a closed position with the storage compartment. A latch actuator included in the latch assembly moves the latch elements to latch the door. A master lock assembly controls operation of the latch actuator by having a first locking part of the master lock assembly interlocking with a second locking part carried by the latch actuator. A tamper-resistant master lock control controls operation of the master lock assembly from outside the storage compartment whereby access to the compartment interior is prevented when the latch assembly is latched and the master lock assembly is in the locked position.

The front panel includes slide doors that cover an aperture in the front panel when in a closed state. Abstract: A snack dispenser consists of a series of tiers stacked to resemble a wedding cake. Each tier includes a trough divided into slots. A snack may be placed into each slot. The front of each slot is transparent. The troughs or trays are mounted on a rotatable carousel. The carousel is covered with a backshell and a transparent front shell. The front shell has transparent doors therein. By inserting a proper amount of money and aligning the carousel so that the desired snack is beneath a door; the door may be opened and the customer may withdraw his snack from that slot. The opening of the door blocks the rotation of the carousel, blocks the opening of the remaining doors, and also resets or cancels the credit of the coins inserted. When the single door is closed again, all doors will be blocked so that a person can not again open a door until proper coins are inserted. To service the dispenser the front shell is removed. A segment of all tiers is removed.

A door mechanism is mounted to the housing for movement between opened and closed positions in relation to said opening, wherein in the closed position the door mechanism precludes access to said interior through said opening. In one version, the housing further includes an aperture for inserting items into said enclosure without moving said door mechanism into the opened position. Each corrugation has a ridge projecting from each side of the partition. A plurality of spaced-apart slots are formed in the ridges. The slots are generally parallel to the top and bottom wall: A plurality of horizontal shelves are provided having lateral edges dimensioned to be received in the slots, the vertical partitions and horizontal shelves defining compartments within the box structure to receive a security box.

Abstract: A sliding door safe with an anti-intrusion locking mechanism, wherein a one or two door arrangement slides in a given direction on rails or ledges between first and second grooves of unequal depths in opposing walls of the valuables receiving chamber. The locking mechanism is carried by the door adjacent the deeper groove and includes a key actuable barrel with a lock arm carrying a blocking member, which, upon locking, is interposed between a position of one door and the adjacent portion of the wall of the chamber to preclude forcible sliding of the door or doors in the given direction. The locking assembly also includes a plate member of a bracket secured in spaced relation to the inner surface of the door in alignment with the lock arm and in proximate relation thereto to deter displacement of the lock arm under force of a punch applied to the lock. The bracket and the blocking member are deterrents to forcible entry and removal of the door.

Abstract: A safe having a valuables receiving chamber with a generally rectangular access opening with a first ledge arrangement for placement of two plate-shaped separable steel doors thereagainst, with first and second grooves formed on the opposite walls transverse to the first set of opposing walls. A second ledge arrangement is placed in parallel relation to the first for enabling slidable receipt of one door member therein, with the second ledge arrangement being dimensioned so that the ends thereof, along with the grooves retain both the first door member and a second door member. The width of the grooves and the distance between the two sets of ledges are of a dimension slightly more than the thickness of the door, with one of the grooves having a depth substantially greater than the other. A first door is dimensioned to occupy less than one-half the access opening, and the second door is dimensioned to occupy the majority of the remaining area.

Abstract: A deposit box construction is disclosed wherein vertically adjacent deposit boxes are interlocked in any combination to provide a deposit box installation having any desired mix of box sizes. In the preferred embodiment, each box door is grooved to receive a metallic strip member that is slidably disposed within juxtaposed grooves so that vertically adjacent doors are rigidly interconnected by the strip members. The interlocking means further includes a flat, preferably metallic plate member that is fixedly secured at longitudinally opposed ends of the adjacent doors. Thus, one strip member and one plate member interlock two vertically adjacent door members to provide a single deposit box of twice the capacity of a single box. A larger number of vertically adjacent doors may be similarly interlocked by n-1 pairs of strip members and plate members.

Abstract: A multiple entry closure for a safe or vault wherein said closure includes a hinged door mounted in the safe or vault and having a locking means to maintain the door in a closed position. The hinged door is positioned whereby it is co-planar with the surroundings when installed. The door is of a periphery less than the surface into which it is mounted. A lift-out door having a door locking means is mounted in said hinged door and is of a lesser peripheral area than said hinged door. Said lift-out door requiring removal to obtain access to said door locking means and limited access to the interior of said safe or vault. The said hinged door when closed limits full access to the interior of said safe or vault until unlocked and hinged outwardly of said safe or vault.
