Abstract: A portable mini-safe for mounting on a surface includes a base plate (30) having a central dish-shaped portion forming a recess (33), fastener holes (35), and a peripheral turned up rim (31), a part spherical hollow cylindrical safe body (32) for receiving goods to be stored, a base plate (11) on the safe body having a central recess portion and a peripheral ring element (13) of resilient material for engaging against the mounting plate when installed with the peripheral edge of the safe body engaged within the upturned rim (31) of the mounting plate. A dome shaped cover (1) engages over the open end of the safe body and has peripheral tabs (3) engageable in bayonet slots (7, 3) when the cover is installed. The rotatable camming element (23) is mounted within the safe body for drawing the base plate and mounting plate together for installing the safe on a surface.
Abstract: The invention deals with a spherical or almost spherical chamber or container 1 which can seal in pressure and splinters produced by explosion, deflagration or detonation of explosive substances. The chamber is constructed with an outer structural shell 2, an inner splinter protection layer 3 and an intermediate shock absorbant layer 4. Openings cut in the chamber wall are provided with equally strong outlets or are sealed with equally strong doors constructed after the same principles as the chamber.
Abstract: A portable strong weather proof travel safe used by travelers to keep their essential valuables under their personal control enroute to and from a destination and/or while staying there. When not holding the travel safe, they lockably secure it to well anchored strong structures in guest rooms, rental cars, airports, parks, beaches, etc. In one embodiment, a strong cylindrical weatherproof compartment with a full top entry has integral bottom interfitting receiving structure adapted for securement to complementary receiving structures located in traveler facilities, a first rotatable then lift off strong weatherproof cover fully fitting over the full top entry, and locking mechanism to prevent the unwanted first rotation and then lifting off of the strong weatherproof cover, thereby preventing access to the contents and/or to the secured interfitted receiving structures, so they will continue to keep the travel safe well secured to the complementary receiving structure of a travel facility.
Abstract: A floor safe engageable in and through a rectangular opening in a wood floor and between opposing sides of laterally spaced joists supporting the floor, said safe including an upwardly opening rectangular box-like body with a horizontal bottom wall and flat vertical side walls slidably arranged in said opening in the floor and between said joists with opposite side wall in substantial flat bearing engagement with said sides of the joists; fastening means fixing the body to the joists including apertures in said opposite side walls and elongate headed fasteners engaged through the openings and into the joists from within the body, a flat horizontal cover plate in overlying supported engagement with the top of the body and having a top surface substantially flush with the floor; said cover plate has a central vertical access opening, releasable coupling means securing the cover plate in tight engagement with the body and including laterally projecting brackets on said side walls between the ends thereof, vertic
