Patent number: 8261677Abstract: The invention relates to a gasification boiler for the combustion of solid fuels, in particular bales of straw, for heating purposes and for the production of hot water. The inventive boiler is characterized by optimal combustion and ash separation. The aim of the invention is to carry out the combustion of small particles in the most complete manner possible and to achieve an almost total separation of the ashes from the combustion gas upstream of the heat exchangers. To achieve this, according to the first feature of claim 1, the combustion and gasification chamber comprises lateral depressions that are configured next to the central grating and combustion chamber. Coarse particles collect in said depressions, leaving the fine particles to be carried with the combustion gas into the combustion chamber. According to the second feature of said claim, a cylindrical combustion chamber, configured as an additional component, is connected to the outlet of the combustion chamber.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2004Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Inventor: Christian Herlt

Patent number: 6196144Abstract: The invention relates to a device, and a process for its charging, for carrying out high-temperature recycling for heterogeneously occurring waste in compact packages. The compact packages are introduced into a heated channel for evaporation of liquids and slightly fluid materials as well as to partly decompose them. The invention is characterized by a temperature insulating mouthpiece interconnecting the reactor and the channel for limiting the conduction of heat from the reactor to the channel. Accordingly, packages may be serially forced through the channel and into the reactor while maintaining the packages in sealing engagement with the channel to prevent reduction in the predetermined cross section in response to high temperatures transmitted from the reactor.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1999Date of Patent: March 6, 2001Assignee: Thermoselect AGInventor: Günter H. Patent number: 5626087Abstract: A smokeless mobile agricultural field burner for burning agricultural waste products, mainly rice straw, in the field without releasing excessive air pollution into the environment. The burner consists of a main structure, either self-propelled or towed, that serves as a burn chamber. The sides, top and rear of the main structure are enclosed, while the front and bottom are open, allowing fire to come into contact with the ground to provide sterilization benefits to the soil thereby helping to control soil contamination. Destruction of the waste products is facilitated by a series of primary burners in the burn chamber. Smoke, debris and ash resulting from the primary burn are channeled through the interior of the burner into exhaust ducts by air currents generated by a blower mounted on the outside of the main structure. Once in the exhaust ducts the smoke and debris is destroyed by a set of afterburners, then allowed to escape to an exhaust chamber.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1994Date of Patent: May 6, 1997Assignee: Unverferth Manufacturing Company, Inc.Inventor: Tye E. Patent number: 5197684Abstract: A device for tearing-up and stoking straw into a burner unit. A reciprocating slide is provided under a magazine shaft for straw bales, the slide having mutually staggered teeth on its upper side in a forward part of the slide and elongated fins extending in the direction of movement of the slide in a rear part. The part closest to the stoking channel constitutes a piston means for the conveyance and compression of comminuted straw. The straw is torn-up during the initial advance movement of the slide towards the channel because the teeth are in engagement with the bottom of the lowermost bale, whereas the bale is upheld by the teeth and the fins during the return movement of the slide. The piston means ensures that the shredded straw is pushed into a stoking channel for the combustion chamber of a boiler. Very compressed straw bales are thereby very uniformly comminuted and compressed before being fed into a burner unit.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1991Date of Patent: March 30, 1993Assignee: Licencia Holding S.A.Inventors: Klaus Bihlet, Jorgen Pedersen
