  • Patent number: 12208236
Abstract: An injection device configured for attachment to the skin of a patient includes a housing and a skin adhesive layer attached to an external surface of the housing for attaching the injection device to the skin of a patient. A release liner covering the skin adhesive layer prevents the injection device from attaching to the skin. A film with one end connected to a surface inside of the housing forms a removable sterile barrier and the other end connected to an external surface of the release liner without contacting the skin adhesive layer. The housing, skin adhesive layer and release liner each include a notch defining a passage for the film so that the second end of the film can extend from the interior to the exterior of the housing.

Abstract: A sewing machine includes a sewing machine motor configured to generate drive power to drive a needle bar up-and-down motion mechanism and a cutting unit. The cutting unit includes a cutting needle having a distal end with a blade, and a cutting needle up-and-down motion mechanism having a first motor separate from a sewing machine motor and configured to generate drive power to move the cutting needle independently of the needle bar up-and-down motion mechanism. A cut is formed by the blade as a result of up-and-down motion of the cutting needle while the cutting needle is held in a manner such that an extending direction of the cutting needle corresponds with an extending direction of the needle bar. The cutting unit further includes a cutting needle rotating mechanism configured to rotate the cutting needle about a central axis line of the cutting needle directed to the extending direction.

Abstract: A chainstitch machine has an edge trimmer knife driven in vertical chopping motion adjacent the needle by a linkage actuated by an oscillating shaft that operates synchronously relative to stitch-forming components. The linkage includes a bracket oscillated by the shaft and a joint movable along the bracket between a first position, in which the axis of the joint is offset from the axis of the shaft to communicate oscillating movement to the knife, and a second position, in which the axis of the joint is concentric with the shaft and transmits no oscillatory movement. In the second position, the knife is retracted by the linkage to a location above the region through which work pieces move, but in the first position, the linkage moves the knife down so that part of the knife extends through the plane of the throat plate and is pressed against an edge of a throat plate insert by a small pressure slide entirely within a notch in the insert and guided by juxtaposed edges of the notch.

Abstract: A hemming machine has a first station with an ultrasonic slitting device for cutting woven material that has enough thermoplastic content to be cut and fused by an ultrasonic device. At a second station, a hemming device folds and sews the material and by providing only two folds, results in a three layer hem which does not fray because the edge has been fused by the ultrasonic slitting device.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing pantyhose by means of sewing machine using hose shaped leg parts comprises arranging the leg parts in a flattened side by side longitudinal relationship, cutting each leg part along an edge from the waist rim of its panty area up to a crotch leaving a remaining leg portion of each leg uncut so as to form upper and lower plies of each leg cut along their inner opposite edges, sewing the cut edges of the laterally adjacent plies together from the waist rim to the crotch to form a seam, deflecting the outer plies outwardly to overlie the remaining leg portions and continuing to sew the seam by sewing in the same direction the edge portions of the upper plies together. A sewing machine carrying out the invention includes a presser foot having a sole with a toe shaped front part which engages into each leg portion of the pantyhose to be formed.

  • Patent number: 4517908
Abstract: An automatic notching device in a sewing machine comprises a worm engaged with a worm gear fixed to a driving shaft of the sewing machine, a driving cam having a cam portion formed with a plurality of protrusions and a cylindrical boss portion, and an actuating link pivotally moved dependant on the movement of said cam. A cutter-holding member is provided to move upwardly and downwardly by the movement of actuating link transmitted via a linkage member and a swing arm. During the movement of the cutter-holding member, the cutter cooperates with a cutter-guiding member disposed adjacent to a side of needle-guiding member, in order to effect a simultaneous notching operation in sewing a curved portion of garment. The notching device further comprises a push rod having at one end a lever and at the other end a yoke. An actuating shaft is connected at one end to said yoke and has a roller at its other end. Depending upon the position of the lever the roller is moved upwardly or downwardly.

  • Patent number: 4467738
Abstract: A sewing machine comprises a rotatable main shaft which drives a needle upwardly and downwardly over a sewing station to sew through material which is moved thereover and which includes a trimming knife mounted adjacent the needle for upward and downward movement for selectively and periodically cutting the material. The trimming knife is driven by a linkage mechanism from an eccentric drive and the eccentric drive is detachably connected between the main shaft and the linkage mechanism and permits the knife to be driven with the mainshaft of the sewing machine or by an independent drive through a separate detachable drive mechanism. In one embodiment a positioning motor is connected to the drive through a hand wheel and an engageable and disengageable clutch so that it may drive a linkage mechanism including an eccentric to move the knife upwardly and downwardly for cutting the material being sewn during the operation of the sewing machine or separately when the sewing machine drive is discontinued.

  • Patent number: 4413575
Abstract: A device for trimming an edge of a tubular article to form a portion of a pantyhose prior to the sewing of a gusset. A support is rotatable about its vertically disposed central axis and cooperates with a mask supported independently of the support and normally stationary. The mask has slots with which trimmers in the form of electrical heating elements cooperate, each of the trimmers being movable independently of the other relative to the mask. The support is rotated relative to the mask and one of the trimmers penetrates and cuts the cloth by heat action and enters one of the slots in the mask so that during continued rotation of the support an edge of the article is trimmed from the remainder by the aforesaid trimmers to remain engaged about the support as an annular band.
