Short Thread Patents (Class 112/170)
  • Publication number: 20120073484
Abstract: A sewing machine includes a control portion that controls a thread tension adjustment portion and a feed portion such that a first stitch and a second stitch are formed alternately on a sewing object. The first stitch includes only a stitch in which an interlacing point of the upper thread and a bobbin thread is lower than a top surface of the sewing object. The second stitch includes at least one set of a first section and a second section. The first section is a section in which the interlacing point and the bobbin thread are pulled out, by the thread tension, in the first direction on the top surface of the sewing object. The second section is a section in which the bobbin thread is pulled out in the second direction, and at least part of the second section overlapping with the first section.

  • Publication number: 20100199899
Abstract: A thread can be captured surely by the thread capturing open eye of a needle and a stitch can be formed in the space within a machine bed. A handstitch on the front surface of a fabric workpiece and a locked stitch on the back surface are formed as a skip-stitch set by cooperation of a open eye needle (13), a rotary hook (200) comprising a rocking bobbin casing (205) loaded in a rotative outer rotary hook (202), and a thread draw out actuator (401). In the first stroke of the open eye needle (13), a stitch length feed of the fabric workpiece for handstitch is performed by a feed dog (601). In the second stroke of the open eye needle (13), an inter-stitch pitch feed of fabric workpiece for inter-handstitch is performed by a feed dog (601).

  • Patent number: 4884517
Abstract: A button sewing apparatus comprising a button supply device, a X-Y mover, a stay button chucking device, a surface button chucking device, a surface button turning device, a presser foot device, a thread guiding device and a thread holding device. Button neck wrapping is performed in a manner closely simulating "hand" sewing. After sewing both a stay button and a surface button to a workpiece, a sewing table makes a circular motion while keeping a needle entry as the center, and a thread is slidably clamped and guided to pass through a guide hole tentatively formed underneath a needle such that the thread wraps firmly around the button neck.

  • Patent number: 4122787
Abstract: Stitches on alternate sides of a fabric workpiece are produced by the operation of a sewing machine whose needle has a laterally open eye formed with a double-hook contour so that a thread is carried downwardly through the fabric by the eye during a first phase of the initial reciprocation cycle of the needle, the needle is withdrawn upwardly through the fabric without thread during the second phase of this cycle, the needle passes downwardly through the fabric without a thread during the first phase of the next cycle and carries the thread upwardly through the fabric during the second phase of this latter cycle. Below the fabric is a rotary disk having a hook which engages the thread as it passes downwardly through the fabric to draw an entire free thread length out and enable same to be positioned by a thread taker for engagement in the eye of the needle during the upstroke of its second cycle.
