Loop Spreaders Patents (Class 112/187)
  • Publication number: 20150128836
Abstract: A device for producing a composite sandwich structure (1), wherein the sandwich structure comprises at least a first and second face sheets (2, 3) of a fibrous reinforcing material sandwiching between them a sheet of a core material (4), the device comprising a connecting fibre inserting apparatus for connecting the first face sheet (1), the core material (4) and the second face sheet (3) by means of connecting fibres (6). The connecting fibre inserting device comprises at least one needle bar extending transversally in the moving direction of the sandwich structure (1) and provided to exert a reciprocating movement in height direction of the sandwich structure (1). The needle bar comprises a plurality of spaced apart needles (11), arranged to face the first face sheet (2), and provided to take along a length of connecting fibre yarn (6) when reciprocating in and out of the sandwich structure (1) thereby forming a loop at the lower surface of the second face sheet (3).

  • Patent number: 7918171
Abstract: A threading device of a sewing machine is provided. The threading device includes a threading hook which moves forward to enter an eye of a needle to catch a needle thread, and moves rearward with the needle thread being caught to insert the needle thread through the eye, a threading shaft which holds the threading hook, an operating member which is operated to move the threading shaft, a threading operation mechanism which transmits the movement of the threading shaft to the threading hook to move the threading hook back and forth, and a restricting device which makes the threading operation mechanism inoperable when the spreader mechanism is attached to the sewing machine main body, and makes the threading operation mechanism operable when the spreader mechanism is detached from the sewing machine main body.

  • Patent number: 7806062
Abstract: A chain stitch or a double chain stitch sewing machine or sewing element of a sewing machine comprising three elements: a needle; a looper; and a spreader improved in such a way that a collision of any two of the elements during the sewing operations will not cause serious damage to the sewing machine and stop periods as a consequence thereof. It is provided that the sewing elements are formed such that at least one sewing element, in particular the spreader, will dodge or break at the predetermined breaking point due to its design and/or material properties.

  • Patent number: 5427042
Abstract: A horizontal rotary hook has an outer rotating hook body provided with a mounting protrusion protruding from the outer circumference of the side wall thereof and provided with an upper mounting surface and a side mounting surface. A thread catching member is placed movably on the upper mounting surface of the mounting protrusion, the horizontal position of the thread catching member relative to the axis of the outer rotating hook body is determined by using a positioning jig, and then the thread catching member is fixed to the mounting protrusion of the outer rotating hook body by welding. A loop expanding member is joined to the thread catching member so as to stand perpendicularly to the upper surface of the thread catching member and a part of the loop expanding member is fixed to the side mounting surface of the mounting protrusion by welding.

  • Patent number: 4942834
Abstract: The present invention relates to a looper shifting device in an overlock sewing machine having an upper looper and a lower looper and capable of looping the end of the cloth by one needle with use of three threads composed of an upper thread (first thread) in a needle, a second thread in the upper looper, and a third thread in the lower looper. A tip end of a guide passage provided at the upper looper is open to a tip end rear portion of a brade of the upper looper and positioned adjacent to a pore. A horn is retractably inserted in the guide passage. A spreader is defined by the tip end of the horn protruded from the opening and tip end rear portion of the upper looper. There is provided at the side of the upper looper a holding device for holding the base portion of the horn.

  • Patent number: 3957004
Abstract: A hand-held single-thread lockstitch sewing machine or stitcher for attaching buttons, snaps, bar tacks, or the like, employs a boat-type shuttle for capturing the loop thrown by the needle. A limited length of bottom thread is stored by manually positioning a lever which directs the loop over a finger-like projection in the shuttle to trap the loop. Repositioning the lever will allow the machine to sew normally with the loop passing around the shuttle and picking up the stored thread. Bottom tension is applied by magnetically attracting the shuttle to the carrier wall and passing the bottom thread between the shuttle and the carrier wall.
