Abstract: A zigzag width range setting apparatus 9 sets a minimum value and a maximum value of a zigzag width of a needle 62. When the sewing machine is in operation, if the minimum value of the zigzag width preset by the zigzag width range setting apparatus 9 is higher than 0, a zigzag action is performed in a minimum zigzag width at no operation of a knee lifter 2 (an amount of operation of zero), and if the minimum value is 0, the zigzag width of the needle 62 is 0 at zero amount of operation of the knee lifter 2, that is the zigzag action is not performed, and stitching is performed by moving the needle 62 widthwise in accordance with the amount of operation of the knee lifter 2. If the maximum value is changed by the zigzag width range setting apparatus 9 during the sewing machine stitch action, zigzag stitch in accordance with the changed maximum zigzag width is performed.
Abstract: There is provided a sewn product in which one material edge and the other material edge are stitched together in an abutted state. The one material edge and the other material edge are stitched together with one bobbin thread and a plurality of needle threads, the plurality of needle threads being interlocked with the one bobbin thread to form a plurality of rows of zigzag stitched seams.
Abstract: A sewing machine includes a needle bar to which a needle is attached, a needle bar rocking mechanism which rocks the needle bar, a needle plate having a needle hole through which the needle is passed, an imaging device which images a lower part of the needle bar, a setting section which sets a range of rocking motion of the needle bar based on an image obtained by the imaging device, and a control device which controls the needle bar rocking mechanism based on the range of rocking motion set by the setting section.
Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting a timing of a needle and a looptaker of a sewing machine provided at a zigzag sewing machine having an upper shaft for driving a needle bar, a lower shaft for driving a looptaker, a machine frame, and a timing belt for connecting and synchronizing the shafts includes a cam member including a first cam surface and a second cam surface, a first arm member and a second arm member supported by the machine frame and a first pulley and a second pulley mounted to the first arm member and the second arm member respectively and always contacting the timing belt, the first pulley following the first cam surface and the second pulley following the second cam surface.
Abstract: Apparatus for forming a high shear strength clay liner comprising two synthetic geotextiles surrounding a semihydrated layer of swellable clay. The apparatus includes two parallel needle bars each carrying a row of needles reciprocating in opposed directions and cooperating with a reciprocating needle plate having a plurality of parallel fingers and a looper bar with a plurality of parallel looper plates rocking on an axis to form loops which can be melted to form protruding knots.
