  • Patent number: 5450811
Abstract: A signalling device for warning motorists of danger including, in combination: a planar sign having a first surface with indica thereon; a housing having a top wall with a slot formed therein and a flange secured to the sign; a motor positioned within the housing, the motor having a horizontal output shaft, a disk coupled to the output shaft, the disk adapted for rotational movement, and a hole formed within the periphery of the disk; a generally vertically extending flag pole having an upper extent and a lower extent, the lower extent being pivotally connected to the bottom wall of the housing, the flag pole adapted for cyclic pivotal movement, a horizontal hole formed adjacent to the lower extent of the flag pole, the flag pole being positioned such that it extends through the slot of the housing, the upper extent of the flag pole extending above the housing and the top portion of the sign; an s-shaped pin having a first end and a second end, the first end positioned within the hole formed adjacent to the l

  • Patent number: 4466698
Abstract: An emergency signalling device which will transmit a code signal by means of spaced reflective members rotatably mounted upon a member which may be driven by air currents. The device more particularly comprises a rotatably mounted surface such as a hemisphere upon the convex surface of which are provided spaced reflective areas of differing dimensions which will reflect flashes of different duration when exposed to sunlight corresponding to a recognizable code to transmit an emergency message such as S.O.S. Means are provided upon the said surface to permit adjustment of rate of rotation in accordance with the velocity of air currents to which it is exposed.

  • Patent number: 3960105
Abstract: Energy is slowly stored in at least two spring members mounted juxtaposition one another, the stored energy being released substantially instantaneously and individually, a single member engaging a striker first, the striker then engaging an alarm device such as a bell, subsequent members striking prior members to move the striker and again engage the alarm device.
