Multiple Arms Patents (Class 116/53)
  • Patent number: 11488503
Abstract: A maintenance signal flag adapted for use with a shopping cart, the maintenance signal flag comprising a flag member and signal panel hingedly connected to a mounting assembly. The mounting assembly secures the maintenance signal flag to the shopping cart, and flag member pivots between raised and lowered positions to raise the signal panel above the shopping cart. The signal panel displays a maintenance message when raised, indicating the shopping cart is faulty. A user, upon discovering a defect, raises the flag member to create a visual alert which warns other users to avoid the faulty shopping cart and notifies maintenance personnel to service the shopping cart. The maintenance message identifies the specific defect to facilitate efficient inspection. The maintenance signal flag may be retrofitted to existing shopping carts and does not interfere with the ability of the shopping cart to be stacked with other shopping carts.

  • Patent number: 10723402
Abstract: A device 1 for a bicycle, the device comprising: an elongate member 2, the elongate member 2 having a first end 2a arranged to be connected to the handlebar of the bicycle and a second end 2b arranged to extend freely; at least one light source 6 arranged to illuminate at least a part of the elongate member 2; wherein the elongate member 2 is flexibly resilient such that, if a force causes the elongate member 2 to move from a first configuration to a second configuration, the elongate member 2 will return to the first configuration once the force is removed; wherein the elongate member 2 is of a length so as to extend outwardly beyond an end of the handlebar.

  • Patent number: 6310551
Abstract: An alpine rescue alert assembly operated by a ski patrol member. The rescue alert assembly adapted for mounting between a pair of toboggan handles pivotally attached to the front of a toboggan. The toboggan used for carrying an injured skier. The alert assembly includes a battery received in a battery tray attached to a side of one of the handles. The assembly also includes a pole mounting base. The pole mounting base rotatably mounted on a pivot pin ring. The pivot pin ring is attached to a ring bracket mounted on and expending upwardly from an assembly brace. A lower end of a pivot pole is releasably attached to the pole mounting base. The pole mounting base allows the pole to be raised from a lowered horizontal position upwardly to a vertical position when the alert assembly is in use. An upper end of the pivot pole includes a strobe light and a siren mounted thereon. The strobe light and siren include electrical wiring connected to the battery.

  • Patent number: 5872510
Abstract: A bicycle signalling device that may be releasably mounted on a bicycle. The signalling device includes a holder, first and second elongated flexible arms connected to and extending outward from the holder, and first and second signalling lamps mounted on the first and second arms respectively. Each of the lamps is connected to an electric power source to selectively actuate the lamps. Each of the arms is universally bendable in three mutually orthogonal directions and has sufficient rigidity to retain a configuration imparted thereto. In this way, the arms may be used to position and to hold the lamps at selected positions within a three-dimensional space.

  • Patent number: 5689232
Abstract: A bicycle signalling device (1) has flexible arms (4) carrying lamps (5). The arms (4) are mounted on a holder (2) having spring clamps (3) for snap engagement with the handlebars of a bicycle. A battery within the holder (2) powers the lamps (5) operable by switches (10, 12) to indicate whichever direction the cyclist intends to turn. The arms (4) can be bent in any direction by the cyclist to hold the lamps (5) in the best signalling position.

  • Patent number: 4575189
Abstract: A bicycle reflector safety warning device which embodies reflectors, oriented for viewing from both forward and rearward of the bicycle, on both sides of the bicycle, so as to define the outside dimensions on both sides of the bicycle and to provide a lateral separation basis for the estimation of distance to the bicycle. The device, of sturdy construction, may include a mounting member for secure attachment to the bicycle seat stays; a single helical expansion spring member for flexibility and resiliency; reflector support rods attached helically, by threads, to the spring member for ruggedness and adjustability; and forward and rearward pairs of reflectors.
