    Abstract: An erectable and collapsible warning signal reflector assembly includes a pair of crossed arms that are pivotally connected to one another at their crossing point and are further attached to a vertical post stand at the same point. An elongated hollow box is used as a stand. The bottom of the vertical post is positioned into an opening in a top lid cover of the elongated box stand. When the crossed arms and post are rotated along the same plane, the entire assembly can be fit into the elongated box for storage purposes. Electrically powered lights are located on at least one side of each of the arms. The lights can be powered by a battery and switch inside each of the arms. Alternatively, the lights can be powered by an adapter plug that can be inserted into a conventional cigarette lighter. Alternatively, the lights can be reflector covers.

A flexible, brightly colored and reflective fabric cover is received over the stays. The torsional coil springs bias each adjacent pair of the three stays apart, forming isosceles triangles such that the fabric cover forms a pyramidal configuration. An apex region of the flexible cover is reinforced to withstand the stress induced by the torsional coil springs. Lower ends of each of the tubular stays are received in respective pockets formed on an interior surface adjacent the lower peripheral edge of the fabric cover. The stays may be manually forced into a parallel relation to form a compact closed position of the warning marker for storage and transportation purposes. The warning marker may be retained in the closed position by a securing strap or a storage tube.

A triangular floor in the form of a triangle has a base coincident with the perpendicular base and sides spaced inwardly from the perpendicular sides with there being a peeked boundary formed between the perpendicular adjacent sides and the adjacent sides of the floor. A reflective surface on the perpendicular adjacent sides form an arrow indicating a direction of travel while another reflective surface on the floor indicates an opposite direction of travel respective to the first arrow and can be of various colors.

Portions of the flanges may be formed with latching slots adapted to receive the latching pin elements with a detent action. The side members may be formed with end elements which are adapted to project beyond the edges of the opposite side members when they are erected.
