Abstract: Confectionery articles are coated with precrystallized, molten tempered chocolate by forcing the chocolate under pressure through a nozzle onto a veil plate to produce a downwardly descending film of chocolate under gravitational force, passing the confectionery article through said film, collecting unused chocolate and recirculating the unused chocolate through said nozzle.

Abstract: In the fluid granulating/coating apparatus to be worked by utilizing suction air current, a granulating/coating apparatus wherein a receptacle for accommodating bag filters as disposed in the upper part of the apparatus is in the shape of a cylinder with smooth interior, the suction air current is supposed to be discharged by way of one side wall of said cylindrical receptacle, a fan for generating the suction air current and a damper for stopping air suction are installed on the outside of said cylindrical receptacle, and a large-sized safety lid is installed on the upper part of the cylindrical receptacle.

Abstract: Apparatus for coating confectioneries such as chocolates or biscuits, including a feed device for receiving the confectionery to be coated and feeding the confectionery to a coating device wherein the confectionery is coated, means for driving the feed device and the coating device in synchronism, and means disposed immediately downstream of the coating device for receiving and discharging the coated confectionery and including a removable belt and drive means for advancing the belt over a guide plate fitted adjacent the coating device and thence over a removable support plate whereby confectionery coated in the coating device is received on the advancing belt, the guide plate having a normal working position and being disposable away from the coating device out of working position, and including control means for temporarily displacing the guide plate away from the coating device during the passage of the leading end of the belt into the gap between the leading edge of the guide plate and the coating device.

Abstract: An apparatus for enrobing discrete objects. The device includes a perforated drum adapted to receive and tumble a charge of discrete objects to be coated and which is rotatable about its horizontal axis. The tumbling charge is periodically wetted with coating material and is dried by a stream of selectively conditioned air passed through the charge. During the initial phase of each drying operation a high velocity conditioned air stream employing a high percentage of reconditioned air is employed that effects rapid drying without deleteriously affecting the surface of the coated objects. During the final phase of each drying operation velocities are reduced and higher percentages of unrecirculated conditioned air is employed to assure continuity of drying with a concomitant production of an optimum surface of coating material thereon.
