Abstract: An electrode manufacturing apparatus comprises a conveying section for conveying a current collector sheet having a plurality of through holes; a backup roll for guiding the conveyed current collector sheet; an applicator for supplying a coating liquid to the current collector sheet on the backup roll; and a nip roll for pressing a part of the current collector sheet where the coating liquid is not supplied yet from the applicator against the backup roll.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for coating a paper or board web, wherein the web to be coated is brought to a film transfer coater and taken to a nip between the film transfer roll of the coater and its backing roll, and coating mix is applied onto the surface of the film transfer roll. The web is taken through the nip between the rolls and the rolls are turned, whereby the coating mix applied onto the applicator roll is at least partly transferred onto the surface of the web. The web is supported through the nip by means of a belt traveling at the same speed as the web, the belt having been arranged to travel on the backing roll. The web is taken onto the surface of the belt prior to the nip and separated from the belt after the nip, and it is pressed against the film transfer roll by means of the belt. The length of the path where the web and the film transfer roll are in contact with each other is controlled by varying the position of the web and the belt.

Abstract: The invention is a device for the application of determinable quantities particularly of viscous liquids onto a movable substrate, consisting of an application roller that spans the length of the device, a supply mechanism to provide the liquid to the application roller, a contact press that pushes the application roller against the substrate, which, when pressed between the application roller and the substrate, creates a narrowing intake gusset in the direction of movement (D) of the application roller and at least one demarcation element that acts in combination with the application roller to define the width of application of the liquid (application width) being applied to the substrate.
Abstract: An apparatus for coating a strip of liquid material such as a polymer adhesive onto the surface of a traveling web at adjustable cross-directional locations which includes a transfer roll secured to a drive shaft coupled hub by an asymmetric rim plate. A carrier sleeve is secured to the hub by anti-friction bearings for independent rotation about the axis of the drive shaft. A fountain housing is secured to the carrier sleeve. The fountain housing supports a fountain nozzle for pressurized discharge of a fluid onto the perimeter surface of the transfer roll within an evacuated cavity. The cavity perimeter around the fountain nozzle has a close, sealing proximity with the transfer roll surface. An adjustable doctor blade screeds excess liquid on the transfer roll surface into the evacuated cavity for removal by a vacuum system. The apparatus significantly reduces the emissions of volatile fluids to the atmosphere during the coating process.
Abstract: A developing magnet roller is provided on a developing frame, and a developing agent accommodating cartridge and a toner accommodating cartridge member are fitted detachably into the developing frame. The toner accommodating cartridge member is fitted detachably into the developing agent accommodating cartridge. A developing agent is recovered in the developing agent accommodating cartridge. The developing agent and the developing agent accommodating cartridge are exchanged together from a developing apparatus. The new developing agent accommodated in the exchanged new developing agent accommodating cartridge is circulated by the developing magnet roller. The exchange for the developing agent in the developing apparatus can be realized without the lowering of the developing performance.
