  • Patent number: 11441317
Abstract: An installation apparatus for self-adhering roofing material comprises a frame, a roofing material carriage, a press roller, a film take-up roller and a drive connection. A plurality of wheels connected to the frame support the frame for rolling motion over a roof surface. The roofing material carriage is configured to hold a roll of roofing material having a self-adhesive side covered by a release film. The press roller is rotatably mounted to the frame so as to press the self-adhesive side of the roofing material fed thereunder onto the roof surface. The film take-up roller is rotatably mounted to the frame so as to pull the release film from the self-adhesive side of the roofing material and wind the release film thereabout. The drive connection extends between a first end, driven by rotation of the press roller, and a second end, driving rotation of the film take-up roller.

  • Publication number: 20150083040
Abstract: A medium transporting apparatus is used for transporting a label web including a carrier web and labels adhered thereto. A platen roller transports the label web in a transport path. A pressure roller is disposed downstream of the separating member with respect to the transport path, and causes the carrier web to be kinked. The pressure roller urges the carrier web against the platen roller. A support member is mounted on a cover and rotatably supports the pressure roller. The cover is pivoted between an open position and a closed. Immediately after the cover has moved to the closed position, the pressure roller contacts the platen roller and then slides by a predetermined amount on the circumferential surface of the platen roller in a direction away from the separating member. Thus, the carrier web sandwiched between the pressure and platen rollers becomes taut.

Abstract: A method and system for patterning a substrate with reduced defectivity is described. Once a pattern is formed in a layer of radiation-sensitive material using lithographic techniques, the substrate is rinsed to remove residual developing solution and/or other material. Thereafter, a first chemical treatment is performed using a first chemical solution, and a second chemical treatment is performed using a second chemical solution, wherein the second chemical solution has a different chemical composition than the first chemical solution. In one embodiment, the first chemical solution is selected to reduce pattern collapse, and the second chemical solution is selected to reduce pattern deformity, such as line edge roughness (LER) and/or line width roughness (LWR).

Abstract: In an apparatus for manufacturing a dye-sensitized solar cell, a photosensitization dye solution makes contact with an electrode material layer that functions as a working electrode of a dye-sensitized solar cell so that the photosensitizing dye is adsorbed on the layer. Such an apparatus for manufacturing a dye-sensitized solar cell has a substrate housing section to house a substrate with the electrode material layer formed on its surface, and a circulation mechanism to circulate the photosensitization dye solution in such a way that the solution passes a surface of the substrate housed in the substrate housing section. In such an apparatus, a cross-sectional area of a flow path for the photosensitization dye solution in a portion facing the substrate in the substrate housing section is set smaller than a cross-sectional area of a flow path for the photosensitization dye solution in other portions.

Abstract: Disclosed is a synthetic leather produced by directly coating a water-soluble synthetic resin solution on the surface of a fabric to form a film thereon such that fine gaps formed on the fabric are partially left open to have a certain degree of air permeability. In particular, a brushing process is used for brushing the surface of a fabric using a brushing machine to raise a nap. Next, a hydrolysis-resistant and flame-retardant resin solution is coated on the back of the fabric, which is opposite to the surface on which the nap is raised, to reinforce the back of the fabric. A film forming process then applies a water-soluble polyurethane resin solution to the nap raised on the surface of the fabric to form a film on the surface of the fabric thereby producing a synthetic leather product that has air permeability properties that are superior to genuine leather.

The system includes a window clamp having one or more windows through which the epoxy may be applied onto the substrate panel. The size and shape of the one or more windows correspond to the size and shape of the area on the substrate to receive the die attach epoxy. Once the die attach epoxy is sprayed onto the substrate through the windows of the window clamp, the die may be affixed to the substrate and the epoxy cured in one or more curing steps. The system may further include a clean-up follower for cleaning epoxy off of the window clamp, and a window cleaning mechanism for cleaning epoxy off of the sidewalls of the windows of the window clamp.

Abstract: A system for planarizing a semiconductor device includes a holder component for holding the substrate. The substrate has at least one opening therein, and each opening defines a lower portion and an upper portion. A resist applicator applies a layer of resist over the substrate, such that the resist layer covers the lower and upper portions. An etching component etches back the resist layer to expose the upper portion of the at least one opening. The resist applicator and the etching component repeat the steps of applying and etching, respectively, to remove a predetermined amount below the upper portion. A deposition component deposits an insulating layer over the substrate. A planarizing component planarizes the insulating layer until the upper portion of the at least one opening is exposed.

Abstract: The present invention comprises an automated apparatus capable of spray depositing polyelectrolytes via the LbL mechanism with minimal or no human interaction. In certain embodiments, the apparatus sprays atomized polyelectrolytes onto a vertically oriented substrate. To counteract the effects of irregular spray patterns, the substrate is preferably slowly rotated about a central axis. In certain embodiments, the apparatus also includes a forced pathway for the droplets, such as a pathway created by using a vacuum. In this way, a thicker or three-dimensional substrate can be coated. In certain embodiments, the apparatus is designed so as to be scalable. Thus, through the use of multiple instantiations of the apparatus, a large or irregularly shaped substrate can be coated. Rolls of textile can therefore be coated using the apparatus. Additionally, the present invention includes a method to uniformly coat a substrate, such as a hydrophobic textile material, using aqueous solutions of polyelectrolytes.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for generating electronic records of marking operations for underground facilities/utilities. Electronic records of marking information may be logged/stored in local memory of a marking device, formatted in various manners, processed and/or analyzed at the marking device itself, and/or transmitted to another device (e.g., a remote computer/server) for storage, processing and/or analysis. In one example, multiple pieces of geo-location data (e.g., from a GPS receiver) are collected and logged per actuation of a marking device (e.g., a trigger-pull to dispense marking material). A computer-generated image or other visual representation of the marking operation may be electronically rendered in a display field based on logged marking information, essentially in real time as the marking operation is conducted, and/or recreated thereafter based on one or more stored electronic records.
