Abstract: A plurality of interconnected panels are pivotally mounted to a vehicle for use in forming a portable animal enclosure. The weight of the panels is substantially supported by the vehicle while being pivoted into a deployed position, making it easy for those of slighter stature, such as women, to deploy and configure the portable animal enclosure. Two sets of interconnected panels may be mounted to the vehicle for forming a single enclosure. Additional sets of interconnected panels may be added to form further enclosures. The sets of interconnected panels may be configured into variously shaped enclosures. The interconnected panels may be configured to telescope or nest inside one another when stored on the vehicle, so as to protrude only slightly from the side of the vehicle when in a folded position for transportation or storage.

Abstract: The portable corral has a series of fence sections. Each fence section is preferably formed by a telescoping panel, which has a first female panel and a second male panel, which telescope into or out of each other, thereby permitting the length thereof to be adjusted. The slidable or telescoping panels have base receivers to support the panels or the fence sections as desired. Fasteners also join adjacent sections together, in order to form the corral into its desired shape.

Abstract: A trailer mountable portable corral system for enclosing animals is provided. The system has, a first portion of the corral system having at least one corral panel and a corral gate, a first lifting mechanism mounted to the trailer and connected to the panel of the first portion of the corral system at an end not connected to another panel or gate, a second portion of the corral system having at least one corral panel and a second lifting mechanism mounted to the trailer and connected to the panel of the second portion of the corral system at an end not connected to another panel. A user operating either the first or second lifting mechanism may cause lifting and lowering of either portion of the corral system connected thereto.

Abstract: A boar cart for carrying a boar through alleyways of a sow insemination area for interaction with the sows during insemination is formed by a cage for containing the boar including a cage floor on which the boar stands, two sides each defined by vertical bars on a respective side of a longitudinal center line of the cage assembly for confining the boar so that the boar is maintained extending longitudinally of the cage, a front and a rear defined by vertical bars, at least one of which can be opened as a door to allow entry and exit. The cage is mounted on rear driving wheels and front steering/caster wheels. The cage is defined by a front portion and a rear portion connected together for pivotal articulated movement about one or two pivot couplings defining a vertical pivot axis arranged substantially at the center line such that the cage can articulate to the left and to the right for navigating left and right corners in the alleyways while the boar is retained in the cage.

Abstract: A modular animal shelter is conveniently relocatable, inexpensive to construct, and sufficiently durable to house large animals for extended periods of time. The modular animal shelter may be formed using a plurality of prefabricated, discrete, detachably interconnected side panels to define at least a partial enclosure. Each side panel may comprise a plurality of rails supported by a plurality of substantially vertical posts transverse to the rails. The side panels may be supported in a vertical disposition through the interconnecting of the side panels, such that the side panels are self-supporting without being anchored to the ground. A covering for the modular animal shelter may be formed substantially of a foldable material, and preferably extends over the enclosure to shelter the enclosure. The covering is preferably detachably connected to the side panels. A plurality of support members may be detachably connected to the tops of two of the opposing side panels to support the covering.

Abstract: A portable corral which is folded into a retracted position behind a towing vehicle for transport from one location to another, and is folded to an expanded, usable configuration for movement along side the path of travel of the towing vehicle to trap cattle or the like who may, for example, be feeding in the path of movement of the corral.

Abstract: An animal catching and carrying device for mounting to a vehicle. The inventive device includes a cage extending from the front of a vehicle. The cage has a back portion and a pair of sides extending from the back portion. The back portion of the cage has a mounting member that is coupled to the vehicle. First and second gate members are pivotally coupled to the sides of the cage. The gate members are positionable between a catching position and a trapped position. The front ends of the gate members are spaced apart when the gate members are in the catching position. The front ends of the gate members are positioned together when the gate members are in the trapped position.

Abstract: A system for housing animals in animal husbandry, particularly for raising pigs comprises a separately transportable container (15) manufactured from metal walls (20-24) which is individually supplied with a fan ventilation system (37), a bottom manure container and a feed supply (60). The animals can be transported in the container (15) and maintained in the container (15). The container can be located in rows of the container along a central alleyway (10) through which the animals can be moved and which supplies the necessary facilities. In one use of the system, the animals can be transported to a position adjacent to but spaced from a new location and maintained in quarantine until the possibility of disease is passed. In a further process for the Isowean system of raising pigs, the nursery stage between the farrowing stage and the finisher stage is carried out in the containment vessel thus avoiding additional movement of the animals which is stressful for the animals.

Abstract: A transportable enclosure for restraining a cow during the birth of a calf, while giving a veterinarian free access to the rear of the cow, without clamping the neck or sides of the cow. A left, right and front gates are provided which swing open to release the cow. A nursing gate is provided to allow access to the cow by the calf for nursing after the birth. A cesarean section gate is also provided to allow access to the cow's abdomen for performing a C-section while the cow is restrained in the birthing pen. A pulling and lifting system is provided for assisting in pulling the calf from the cow and in lifting the calf off of the ground to drain mucous from the mouth, nose and lungs.

Abstract: A portable corral panel is disclosed and which has a supporting leg structure pivotally secured to one side thereof with the supporting leg structure being pivotally movable from a stored position adjacent the panel member to an outwardly extending supporting position. An anchor plate is secured to the supporting leg structure to enable an anchor pin to be inserted therethrough into the ground to further stabilize the panel member.

Abstract: A pet bath apparatus includes a sloped floor unit which includes an elevated portion, a lower portion, and a drain portion located in the lower portion. A set of support legs project downward from the sloped floor unit. A pair of end wall units and a pair of side wall units are supported by the sloped floor unit. Connector assemblies are supported by the wall units and selectively connect adjacent wall units together. The sloped floor unit includes an elevated mid-portion and two lower portions sloping downward from the elevated mid-portion. The drain portion includes a plurality of drain apertures. The sloped floor unit includes a pair of support ridges projecting upward from side portions of the sloped floor unit, and each side wall unit includes a flange portion projecting outward from an inside side wall surface and in engagement with a support ridge. Each side wall unit includes a pair of alignment-pin-receiving elements which project outward from end portions of the inside side wall surfaces.

Abstract: A pet carrier with adequate ventilation for even a large animal. The carrier has a handle which can be folded to conserve space and retractable wheels which can be placed in a down position when moving the carrier with the pet inside, or can be placed in an up or inactive position when mobility is not necessary or when it is desired to maintain the carrier in a stationary position.
