  • Patent number: 8893662
Abstract: A raptor perch apparatus for use at the top of a power pole for raptors to perch and nest without contacting the power lines supported by the power pole. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus comprises a hub bracket having a center member received over the top of the power pole and a plurality of socket-like lateral brackets extending outwardly from the center member to support a plurality of lateral support members extending outwardly from the pole, preferably at a slight upward angle. The proximal end of the lateral support members is received in the lateral brackets. A guy wire or the like is received through a ring member on an end cap at the distal end of each lateral support member to circumvent the distal ends thereof. If needed, a pole top extension can be used to raise the apparatus above the top of the power pole.

  • Patent number: 8468976
Abstract: A poultry raising system includes a poultry house and facilities attached to the poultry house. The facilities include lighting facilities irradiating poultry with light; and the lighting facilities include a semiconductor light source, for irradiation with light having peak wavelength in the range of 550 to 650 nm emitted from the semiconductor light source. The light in this wavelength range has positive influence on sexual maturation, appetite, need for sleep and condition of internal organs. Light of shorter peak wavelength includes ultraviolet rays that cause stress on the poultry and attract insects. Light of longer wavelength includes infrared rays that increase temperature of the poultry and of the poultry house. It is possible to emit light having peak wavelength in a specific range effective to growth and fattening. Because of high electricity-to-light conversion efficiency, high economic efficiency can be attained, and CO2 emission can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6450126
Abstract: A garment for the transporting, training and displaying pet birds on the shoulder of their owners. The garment consists of two front panels and a back panel joined at the shoulders with the front panels removably attachable to each other using adjustable fasteners. At the apex of the shoulders are removable wooden dowels that are attachable with ties or similar mounting, which provide perches for the pet birds to hold onto. The ties or similar fasteners also provide attachment to the garment for toys and paraphernalia to entertain the bird and to adorn the garment. This garment allows that the bird has a natural removable wooden perch to hold onto and the owner has the ability to hold and transport his pet bird without damaging or soiling his clothing. Also, the owner can remove the perches for laundering the garment and the perches may be provided in a plurality of different diameters to allow mounting of the appropriate sized perch for the grip size of the bird.
