  • Patent number: 7487741
Abstract: A pet water dish designed to retain water when repeatedly overturned. One embodiment of the invention utilizes two annular chambers separated by a flat base, and having an aperture allowing water to flow from one chamber into a reservoir when the respective chamber is upright and also allow water to flow back into the chamber when the bowl is inverted. The pet water dish may be inverted repeatedly, and each time, most or all of the water is retained in the dish. This helps ensure that the pet will always have drinking water available.

  • Publication number: 20080163820
Abstract: The invention described herein is a pest-deterrent pet food bowl for the feeding and watering of pets which contains a pet food bowl, wherein a detachable center chamber holds the food or drink, and a base chamber surrounds the center chamber to form a moat. The moat is filled with a pest-deterrent substance, thereby providing a barrier to unwanted pests. The base chamber has guides emerging from its bottom, which prevent or restrict movement of the detachable center chamber when it is placed in the base chamber. The center chamber has a step emerging from its outer edge, allowing a small pet to cross the large moat and be able to reach the food in the center chamber.

  • Patent number: 7040252
Abstract: A pet feeding device for holding a commercially available disposable paper plate, comprising a tray base with four molded integral hooks. The paper plate is slid in place under three of the four hooks and snapped in place under the fourth hook to secure it in place. The hooks keep the paper plate from being moved or turned over while the pet is feeding. The tray base prevents food displaced from the plate by the feeding animal from falling on the floor. After the pet has finished eating, the paper plate is easily snapped out the device and disposed of. The device eliminates the need for washing pet food dishes and provides a sanitary method of pet feeding. The tray base with its integrated, molded hooks is made of a plastic or similar material that is easily washable by hand or in a dishwasher.

  • Patent number: 7017522
Abstract: A farrowing crate is defined by a cage having a main central flooring section for the sow and two side sections for the piglets. A feeder is located at the front wall for supplying feed to the sow when standing and includes a hopper mounted on a front gate outside the crate for and a trough for receiving feed discharged from the hopper. The trough is formed by a base plate lying substantially flat on the flooring from the hopper rearwardly to a raised transverse restricting member to restrict the escape of feed formed by an inverted V-shaped rib formed in the base plate spaced from the front wall and extending generally across the base plate to define a trough area of a height which allows the sow to lie with its neck and head over the restricting member without discomfort. The gate panel includes guards each side of the opening to restrict side to side movement of the sow's head. The trough is restricted by sides at the sides of the sow flooring.

  • Patent number: 6912970
Abstract: An animal nourishment bowl including a triangular shaped perimeter having a first wall, a second wall in connection with the first wall, and a third wall in connection with the first wall and the second wall, and an apex located adjacent where the first wall connects with the third wall. The bowl includes a floor connected to the first wall, second wall and third wall in slanted relationship so the floor angles from the second wall down to the apex so nourishment in the bowl has a tendency to move along the floor toward the apex under actions of the animal and gravity. The floor and walls define a container to hold the nourishment. A method for feeding an animal including the steps of pouring nourishment into a first bowl having a triangular shape and with a slanted floor where the nourishment collects at an apex of the bowl, which is the lowest point of the floor in the bowl relative to ground. There is the step of refilling the bowl with nourishment.

Abstract: A pet mat is provided with an upper surface having a pattern of raised bumps, the configuration and spacing of which is such that a common pet bowl or dish can be placed on any part of the upper surface and the bowl will normally fall within the interstices between the pattern of bumps. The bumps prevent a bowl from moving around the mat, and a raised peripheral edge bordering the upper surface prevents spillage from escaping onto the mat support surface or floor. The mat is preferably formed from a tacky material, such a natural rubber, which further aids in the goal of reducing slippage of both the mat and the bowl placed thereon.
