  • Publication number: 20100310589
Abstract: A system for vaccinating swine according to one embodiment includes a housing having an open first end and an open opposite second end. The housing has a pair of side walls that are angled and non-parallel to one another such that at the second end only a single piglet can exit at one time. The system also includes a vaccination station for individually vaccinating piglets. The vaccination station is located between the pair of side walls in a region thereof that is sized to only permit one piglet to stand between the side walls. The vaccination station includes at least one sensor that detects the presence of the one piglet within the vaccination station and at least one spray nozzle positioned within the vaccination station such that a vaccine dose discharged therefrom is directed upwardly into facial areas of the piglet effectively.

  • Patent number: 7690146
Abstract: A cheating dummy for repelling deer and similar animals from forbidden site is invented. In addition to cheating ability, the dummy also equipped with sensor for detecting approaching animals and capable of triggering actions such as spreading water toward approaching animals, generating ultra-sound to scare them and even making a gunshot sound to repel them. By combining cheating and scaring functions, the repelling effect is expected to be much better than those devices using only sprinkling water or ultra-sound repelling alone. The cheating dummy is user decoratable by dressing with customized outfits for decoration or increasing cheating ability.

  • Patent number: 7547364
Abstract: A sprayer device including a generator for generating an air stream having a predetermined velocity and a nozzle unit for the discharge of liquid therefrom, whereby to produce a mist stream capable of being propelled to a predetermined location. The mist stream has a measurable and controllable lateral dimension at the predetermined location. The sprayer device is used particularly for moistening cattle, especially cows, in sheds, and taking into account the effect of the wind. Rows of sprayers project water sprays directed toward the cattle. The sprayers may be angularly shifted to take into account the deviating effect of the wind. A processor calculates the angular shift that is needed for the existing wind direction and intensity. All the sprayers concurrently receive the angular shift, which is transmitted to the first sprayer from a control station and successively from each sprayer to the next.

  • Publication number: 20080121189
Abstract: This abstract is provided to allow determination of the subject matter of the disclosure but not for interpretation or meaning of any claim. The specification and drawing figures described and show an animal foot treatment system that includes one or more mats. The mats include pressure-sensing plates. On application of foot pressure to the pressure sensing plates, and/or on removal of foot pressure from the pressure sensing plates, the pressure sensing plates send one or more signals to a processor. The processor causes an array of dispensers to discharge ingredients for treatment of animal foot problems on the foot that as either been applied to the mats or lifted from the mats. A tank is provided for holding the ingredients. A pump conveys the ingredients from the tank to the array of dispensers. A mat-flushing device also is included for removal of debris from the animal foot treatment system.

  • Patent number: 7261057
Abstract: A showering device for a bird includes a perch and a movable actuator disposed adjacent the perch. The showering device has sealable liquid dispenser disposed above the perch and at least one linkage mechanism connects the moveable actuator to the sealable liquid dispenser. The showering device includes a device for unsealing the liquid dispenser via the linkage mechanism allowing water to flow from the liquid dispenser due to a movement of the actuator toward the perch.

  • Patent number: 6615769
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling ectoparasites on animals are disclosed. The method consists of the design of an enclosure with an opening having bait such as food or water within the enclosure. An automatic spraying device is set at the opening. Animals are attracted to walk through the opening to feed or drink. Animals are self-treated with ectoparasiticides every time they enter or exit the enclosure. This method will eliminate the necessary labor to gather animals to be treated individually. The method and device is portable and can be place at any location on a farm or land. The automatic spraying device will provide the necessary dosage of ectoparasiticides on animals to control ectoparasites.

  • Patent number: 6520118
Abstract: This invention relates to an animal actuated applicator (10) suitable for applying a fluid such as a pesticide to an animal, the applicator (10) comprising dispensing means (60) for dispensing the fluid and actuating means (12) for actuating the dispensing means. The actuating means (12) includes a base plate (16) which is in use displaced when the animal steps thereon, the degree of displacement being dependent proportionally on the animal's weight being transferred to the base plate (16). The actuating means (12) also includes at least one pressure lever (22) which is operatively associated with the base plate (16) and which is arranged to be displaced in response to the displacement of the base plate (16). An actuator is provided for actuating the dispensing means (60) in response to displacement of the pressure lever (22) to dispense a volume of fluid which is proportional to the animal's weight being transferred to the base plate (16).
