Abstract: A ball-like dog toy includes a spherical shell and a cylindrical valve, the spherical shell being formed of two symmetrical half shells, the half shells having ribs and partition boards, the cylindrical valve being mounted in a hole on the spherical shell and retained between the ribs and partition boards of the half shells and rotated within a limited angle, wherein dog food is discharged out of the spherical shell through the cylindrical valve when the spherical shell is rolled on the ground; discharging of dog food is stopped when the dog stops from playing with the dog toy.

Abstract: An improved animal chew comprising a low voltage battery and various conductors such that when an animal chews on the present invention an electrical circuit is formed and a micro-current flows. This micro-current has therapeutic effects on the animal's teeth and gums, and optionally, low concentrations of certain trace metals are released which similarly have beneficial results regarding the animal's oral hygiene. In addition, upon chewing, calcium ions and/or fluoride ions can be discharged. Finally, in optional embodiment, ultrasonic sound waves can be generated when an animal chews on the present invention which further assists in removal of plaque from the animal's teeth and gums.

Abstract: There is provided an edible dental care article, that is so palatable to the taste of pets, clears residual food in the pet's mouth while chewed by a pet, thereby not only preventing adhesion of plaque and formation of dental calculus but giving a massage to the pet's gum. The edible dental care article for pets is characterized in that a casing material is processed in a thread-like manner, a string-like manner, or a thin-tube-like manner; one of the casing material or a combination of the casing material of several kinds, preferably combined with thread-like other proteins, carbohydrates or lipids, is twisted in a string-like manner; cord-like members are tied into a bundle or twisted together so as to make a rope-like member of a prescribed shape in conformity with the kind or size of a pet, with the twists of the rope-like member being treated so as not to loosen.

Abstract: A recreational and amusement device for a dog takes the form of a ball having a substantially spheroidal profile. The exterior wall of the ball is shaped to form surfaces of a main body and surfaces of two substantially identical handles spaced approximately 180.degree. apart and lying within the substantially spheroidal profile. The main body includes an outer surface which conforms to the substantially spheroidal profile and a plurality of inboard surfaces extending between different locations on the substantially spheroidal profile. The handles include outer surfaces lying within the substantially spheroidal profile of the ball and inner surfaces opposing respective ones of the inboard surfaces of the main body. The inner surfaces of the handles and the inboard surfaces of the main body form contours which bound openings extending through the substantially spheroidal profile.

Abstract: A chew toy includes a vegetable-based flavor and scent additive which is not surface migrating in thermoplastic materials. The chew toy is made by a process in which powdered vegetable-based flavor and scent additive is first mixed with thermoplastic pellets in a rotating drum, and then the mixture is heated to the melting point of the thermoplastic material and injection molded. A coloring additive may be added to the mixture of thermoplastic pellets and vegetable-based additive prior to melting the thermoplastic material.

Abstract: An animal exercise toy made of a durable molded material consisting of a receiving container 10, a removable top 12, with food escape holes 14 creating a positive aromatic and taste attraction when a meal is placed in the food chamber 20, thus encouraging enthusiastic animal interaction.

Abstract: There is provided a plastic object for attracting a cat formed by impregnating particulate matter, such as particles of catnip, into the object during the molding process. Preferably, the plastic is a soft, pliable thermoplastic, such as styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, a polyethylene homopolymer or a flexible polyvinyl chloride compound. The plastic object is structurally sound to avoid excessive wear and tear and, yet, soft and pliable to permit a cat to enjoy the object and provide consumers with the perception that the object will not hurt the cat. Furthermore, the molded object has the aroma of the catnip emitting therefrom.

Abstract: A toy, preferably for animals, is shaped as a hollow body with an inner labyrinth (9). An object such as a tidbit, may be caused to move along the labyrinth, in that e.g. a dog manipulates the hollow body. The hollow body is preferably shaped as a cube (3) with beveled edges, one side face of the cube being provided with an opening capable of receiving an insert member (2) and discharging the tidbit after it has passed through the labyrinth (9). Accordingly, a toy is provided, preferably for dogs, capable of meeting the natural needs of a dog with respect to the use of brain and olfactory sense.

Abstract: A die is utilized to cut chew toy bases from tire sidewalls extracted from used tires. The chew toy bases are initially soaked in a cleansing solution of bleach and a detergent, and are subsequently cleaned by scrubbing them with a brush and rinsing with water. The chew toy bases are placed on a drying rack, and are then soaked in a conditioning solution of a silicone-based rubber beautifier and a scenting and/or flavoring agent. The chew toy based are then polished and screened utilizing a metal detector to identify if there is any metal within the new toy bases. The chew toy bases are suitable for use as dog chew toys and, depending on the particular design of the chew toy bases, may be assembled to other chew toy bases to manufacture a composite dog chew toy.

Abstract: A pet toy product with activatable scent is provided which includes sheet-like material that has applied to it a scent producing element. The scent is activatable and controllable in terms of intensity and duration. The sheet material may be formed into a desired shape, and a desired image may be applied to the sheet material as well. The pet toy product may be used by itself for stimulation of an animal or may be used in conjunction with a pet toy to enhance its effectiveness upon an animal.

The base of the device also includes a holder for receipt of a tray that can contain an aromatic substance, such as catnip.
