Abstract: A bird support and protection device includes a body portion shaped to cover a crop of bird, being of a long-stretch material having a long-stretch direction, and having a top edge and an opposing bottom edge separated by first and second opposing side edges, a first securing strap attached to the first side edge parallel to the long-stretch direction, a second securing strap attached to the second side edge parallel to the long-stretch direction, the first and second securing straps being operable to be releasably secured at a back of the bird to attach the device to the bird such that the body portion substantially covers and supports the crop and to provide a non-constricting and adjustably secure fit.

Abstract: A one-piece rectangular protective cape-like device worn by poultry that covers the main back of the poultry. Two opposing lateral slits are cut into the main saddle piece to form straps. The saddle holds on to the bird by pulling each wing through the respective slit. Weather-resistant material such as reinforced scrim vinyl, Tyvek or other similar material is used. Additional text, color or designs may be printed directly onto the saddle material. Close-set ocelli may be added to depict the presence of predator eyes.

The spurs of each gamecock are covered with a protective device to prevent the spurs from causing injury during the cock fight and their beaks are taped shut. A scoring apparatus is provided that is responsive to the signal and includes a visual display that displays a numerical score for each gamecock. The numerical score is based, at least in part, on the number strikes detected by the sensor being struck over a predetermined time period during the cock fight.

The signal transmission device generates a signal when the sensor is struck by a gamecock. The spurs (12c) of each gamecock are covered with a protective device (60) to prevent the spurs from causing injury during the cock fight and their beaks (12d) are taped shut. Abstract: A bird predation deterrent shield is described herein comprising a sheet of flexible material suspended from the anterior neck region of a cat, at least as wide at its bottom as the shoulders of the cat, and sufficiently long to reach the level of the carpal regions of the cat when the cat is standing on all four limbs. Bird predation deterrent methods are disclosed herein comprising placing such a bird predation deterrent shield on a cat whenever the cat is outdoors. Use of a shield according to the present invention has been shown to drastically reduce the number of birds killed by a cat when worn by the cat while outdoors.

Abstract: A bird diaper for an uncaged pet bird to wear, featuring an enclosed pouch for receiving and containing excrement, and apertures to accommodate both the wings and the tail of the bird. Elastic straps and hook and loop fastener components (e.g., VELCRO) secure the diaper onto the body of the pet bird without restricting movement. The bird diaper is fabricated from spandex (e.g., LYCRA) or another stretchable, lightweight material, allowing absorption of bird excrement to prevent leaks and facilitating easy cleaning using soap and water. The bird diaper can incorporate decorative designs, bright colors and is available in different sizes. The bird diaper also has a leash which is insertable within the hook and loop fasteners. The leash serves to restrain or limit the bird's area of free flight.
