Feed Agitator Patents (Class 119/902)
  • Patent number: 11844334
Abstract: A vibratory animal feeder suitable for containing and agitating particulate animal feed and preventing or minimizing bridging and facilitating flow of the feed as the feed is dispensed to attract game animals may include a feeder hopper. The feeder hopper may include a hopper interior for containing animal feed and a feed dispensing opening communicating with the hopper interior. A feed dispensing assembly may be disposed in communication with the feed dispensing opening of the feed hopper. At least one hopper vibrator may be disposed in the hopper interior in mechanical engagement with the feeder hopper to impart vibration to the feeder hopper and agitate and break up the animal feed such that the animal feed flows more easily and freely from the feeder to the ground or other surface.

  • Patent number: 11839200
Abstract: A hog or swine feeder includes one or more stations for serving a single hog at a time. Each station includes a bowl, with a feed dispenser above the bowl, and a water dispenser below the feed dispenser. The feed and the water dispensers are actuated by the hog on demand. A hopper in the feeder supplies dry feed to the feed dispenser. The hog can select dry feed, wet feed, or drinking water, as needed.

  • Patent number: 9903746
Abstract: A dispenser includes a main body having a discharge opening, an open interior configured to receive a supply of granulated product and a discharge spout for dispensing the granulated product therefrom. A loading and dispensing member is constructed with a plurality of spaced apart receiving cavities formed therein, and is movably mounted within the main body. A portion control container receiving the granulated product and defining a first portion control volume is received and removably retained in each of the plurality of retaining cavities. Each entire portion control container is removable from one of the receiving cavities and is replaceable with a different portion control container defining a second portion volume which is different that the first portion volume.

  • Patent number: 7441942
Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for applying liquid feed additives to a feed composition. In one embodiment, the system has a spray housing defining a spray chamber located adjacent a mix housing carrying a material composition. The mix housing defines a mix chamber, which contains an actuating device, such as an auger, that moves the material stream through the mix chamber. The mix chamber and spray chamber are in fluid communication. A spray nozzle is coupled to the spray housing and in fluid communication with an air source and liquid additive tank. The spray nozzle sprays a fog of air and liquid additive through the spray chamber and into the mix chamber, which gets deposited on the passing feed stream.

  • Patent number: 6200017
Abstract: An apparatus and method for mixing fodder with another consumable material wherein a hopper having two compartments is drawn by a tractor or similar vehicle or is self-propelled. Two parallel feeding channels are provided in front of a plurality of animal's stalls in a building and a tractor together with a hopper move between the two feeding channels. There is a discharge device from each of the compartments of the hopper which extend outwardly into the feed channels to receive fodder from one compartment and another consumable material from the other compartment which are mixed together by mixing devices extending outwardly into the feed channels behind the discharge devices. The mixing device is powered by a power take-off shaft from the tractor and rotates to mix the fodder and other consumable material together. The rotation may be about vertical axes or horizontal axes, the latter extending either in the direction of travel of the tractor or transverse thereto.

  • Patent number: 6101975
Abstract: Feed hopper for a sow has opening at bottom surrounded by a seat upon which a ball check is adapted to rest, thereby to seal the opening and prevent the discharge of feed therethrough. A sow can nudge upwardly the ball check, unsealing the opening and permitting the discharge of feed from the hopper. Vertically adjustable means limit upward movement of the ball check so as to limit the maximum extent to which the opening can be unsealed. A water button, operatively connected to a source of water, can be nudged by the sow to discharge water for her.

  • Patent number: 5992349
Abstract: The present invention provides an animal feeder comprising a hopper and a feed tray into which feed is gravity fed from the hopper. The hopper has an inverse funnel shape to prevent feed jams. The feeder is formed from two halves with a metering gate that meters the feed fed from the hopper to the tray. The metering gate has a limited swing with pegs mounted thereon to further agitate jammed feed inside the hopper as the animal feeds from the tray.

  • Patent number: 5595139
Abstract: An improved animal self-feeder that has a feed reservoir vertically disposed above a trough and that has an intermediate feeding plate disposed between the reservoir and the trough. The self-feeder includes an outlet for discharging feed downwardly from the reservoir onto the intermediate feed plate from which the animal can feed or can knock the feed into the trough below to feed. The self-feeder further includes an agitation assembly for agitating the feed within the reservoir to enhance its flow through the outlet. The agitation assembly is rotationally mounted within the reservoir such that it is rotatable through a complete circle, or 360.degree.. In a preferred embodiment the present invention further includes a jack screw and crank for changing the elevation of the agitation assembly and feed plate.

  • Patent number: 5263437
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hog feeder for one sow. The sow hog feeder comprises a circular trough that includes an agitating star wheel rotatably mounted in the bottom of the trough. A feeding tube is supported on a frame structure that extends upwardly from the round trough and receives and holds a feeding tube in an offset relationship with respect to the center of the round trough. The relationship of the offset feeding tube with respect to the agitating star wheel and round trough assures that hog feed is not wasted or caked around the sides of the container.
