Abstract: A method includes compressing a non-dielectric, elastically-deformable component, a wire mesh component, and a dielectric, contoured object between first and second forming tools. Once the components are compressed, radio frequency energy is supplied to the first forming tool, thereby causing a radio frequency electromagnetic field to be generated between the first forming tool and the wire mesh component that results in a contoured weld of the contoured object. A tooling assembly is configured to carry out the method.
Abstract: Apparatus for reactivating adhesive substances previously deposited on one or more parts of shoes (8), of the type comprising at least one heating device (4,5) of said one or more parts of shoes (8) and at least one controlling unit regulating the operating conditions of said at least one heating device (4,5). The apparatus includes, furthermore, one or more sensors (11) for the detection of the conditions of temperature and/or humidity of the aforesaid one or more parts of shoes (8), said one or more sensors (11) being located either upstream and/or downstream of the aforesaid at least one heating device (4,5) of the parts of shoes (8).

Abstract: A method for making foamed products includes the steps of: (a) foaming a foamable blank at an elevated temperature; (b) forming a plurality of blind holes in the blank which has been foamed, by using a mold having a plurality of protrusions, the protrusions pressing the blank to form the blind holes and to create densified depths respectively in the blind holes; (c) cross-cutting the blank along a plane which extends across the blind holes so that the blank is divided into a first foam sheet having a plurality of through holes and a second foam sheet having a plurality of blind bores with the densified depths; and (d) heating the second foam sheet to expand and to form the densified depths into projections protruding from the second foam sheet.
Abstract: An apparatus for use by individual to repair and replace tread on the bottom of a pair of shoes is disclosed. The apparatus would have a heating grid attached to the top of the base, with the heating grid including a pair of grids for placement of a pair of shoes. The apparatus would further have a pair of front clamps and a pair of rear clamps for fixing the shoes in place once they have been placed on top of the grids. The apparatus would derive power from standard household current and would have an on/off switch and a plurality of gauges to measure temperature and downward pressure placed upon the shoes.
