Folding Patents (Class 12/55)
  • Patent number: 11447903
Abstract: A sewing machine presser foot includes a support part having a support base member, and a roller part including a plurality of rotating members rotatably supported at the support base member and having different diameters so that the roller part is conical as a whole. Each of the plurality of rotating members individually rotates and presses a fabric to be sewn.

  • Patent number: 5001797
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for guiding laminar elements for processing, particularly intended for hide and synthetic material folding machines, which comprises a working element (15) having an active end (15a) engageable by contact with a laminar element (10) being processed, and supporting and drive means (11) for the working element (15) adapted to impart cyclic oscillations to the active end (15a) defining a path comprising a section (30) raised off the laminar element (10) and a section (31) of contact with that same laminar element (10), the contact section (31) extending along a predetermined feed direction of the laminar element (10).

  • Patent number: 4929296
Abstract: This machine comprises a folding foot co-operating with a fixed abutment and a movable oscillating finger for folding the workpiece border against the folding foot, with a presser for retaining and advancing the workpiece, with a glue feeding device and an adjustable speed actuation motor; the machine also comprises photocells indicating the presence and the shape of the workpiece, a minicomputer for storing and controlling the operative and setting parameters of the machine kinematisms, as can be memorized, in maximum rotation rate at straight, outwardly and inwardly curved portions of the workpiece, advancement pitch at the straight and curved portions, glue dosage, delivery times and temperature, selection of the photocells causing pitch variations and actuation of the cutting blade, and machine operation mode, i.e. manual, automatic and continuous rotation; the machine furthermore has drivers for adjustable control of the operative parameters.

  • Patent number: 4610041
Abstract: A folding machine has workpiece sensing means including an emitter by which an "outside" corner in the workpiece edge approaching the operating locality of the machine can be sensed, such sensing causing the feed length by which the workpiece is advanced step-by-step through the operating locality to be reduced; this conventionally causes pleating in the folded over edge portion. In addition, delay means is provided by which, after the emitter has been re-covered by the workpiece, the feed length reduction continues for a given number of further feed steps.

  • Patent number: 4544429
Abstract: A process for bending cuts of leather or other synthetic materials by means of a suction action exerted over the cuts, which were previously gummed, providing an additional action of pressure over the cuts manually or by a pneumatic press installed over the cover of the working bench.

  • Patent number: 4263688
Abstract: Cooperating top and bottom die assemblies for use in a press to fold the edges of a non-rigid workpiece. The top die comprises a horizontal support plate having a radiused folding plate affixed to its underside. A spring biased stripper in association with the support plate is shiftable vertically relative thereto between a retracted position and a normal extended position below the radiused folding plate. The top die assembly support plate has a plurality of upstanding support posts on its upper surface together with means to affix the top die assembly to the upper platen of the press with the free ends of the upstanding support posts in abutment thereagainst. The bottom die assembly comprises a horizontal base plate adapted to rest on the bottom platen of the press. The base plate has a first set of downwardly depending hollow posts mounted on its underside to either side of the press bottom platen.

  • Patent number: 4051569
Abstract: An apparatus for folding and sealing the edges of a non-rigid work piece and a method of performing folding and sealing operations therewith. The apparatus comprises a press with a main cylinder, at least one auxiliary cylinder and upper and lower die assemblies for the press. The upper die assembly comprises a folding cavity plate operatively connected to the main cylinder and having a folding cavity with an electrode surrounding a part at least of the cavity. A stripper in association with the upper die assembly is independently shiftable by the at least one auxiliary cylinder between a retracted position above the folding cavity and an extended position therebelow. The bottom die assembly comprises a plate having a female cavity therein of a size and shape equivalent to that of the folded work piece and a male plug receivable within the female cavity with close tolerance.
