Central Standpipe Patents (Class 122/244)
  • Patent number: 7316206
Abstract: A water heater comprising a tank defining a water chamber, a water inlet and a water outlet communicating with the water chamber, and a combustion tube extending generally vertically through the water chamber and having an upper end. The water heater also comprises a coil surrounding the combustion tube and having inlet and outlet ends, a second tube communicating between the combustion tube and the inlet end of the coil, and an exhaust outlet communicating with the outlet end of the coil. The water heater further comprises a gas burner firing into the upper end of the combustion tube, and at least one expansion volume between the upper end of the combustion tube and the inlet end of the coil for attenuating noise.

  • Patent number: 7013842
Abstract: A system that is used for converting polluted gases into a heat source for production of hot water. The system provides a combustion chamber, an incinerator chamber and mixing and/or water-heating chamber all of which are in-line with each other and contained within appropriate housings. The mixing/and/or water-heating chamber further provides an arrangement of coils for control and heating of the water. Also appropriate ignition means, a blower and the like are included for full efficiency so as to provide a clean burning, environmentally friendly system for production of hot water.

  • Publication number: 20020043220
Abstract: Inner peripheral grooves for transporting a liquid of a working fluid in the longitudinal direction of a first wick are provided along the first wick which transports the liquid contained in the evaporator to a heating portion in the evaporator by capillary force, and a liquid supply portion for supplying the liquid of the working fluid is further provided to the inner peripheral grooves. Therefore, the liquid of the working fluid can be efficiently supplied to the inner peripheral surface of the first wick with a simple structure, so that a loop type heat pipe which can be constantly stably operated can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5351749
Abstract: An arrangement of apparatus and process thereof for cooling hot fluid solid particles, especially hot regenerated catalytic particles are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a substantially vertical, cylindrical and close ended heat removal vessel through the shell sid passage of which is passed the fluid solid particles that flow downwardly in the form of dense phase fluidized bed, and one or more seperate heat exchange tube units through the tube side passage of which the coolant is passed and evaporized, each of said heat exchange tube units comprising a supply coolant inlet tube, a supply coolant collecting chamber, one or more heat exchange tubes, a vapour collecting chamber and a resulting vapour discharge tube, all of which constitute a close type coolant-to-vapour circulation.

  • Patent number: 5253703
Abstract: A heat exchanger adapted to handle dusty hot waste gases including a vertically oriented shell through which the waste gases flow longitudinally downward. The shell contains a tube assembly of vertical tubes having external, longitudinal heat transfer fins with the tubes being connected for fluid flow and support of their upper and lower ends to a central vertical support/header assembly. This support/header assembly is a tube divided into an upper header, a lower header and a center support tube section.
