Patent number: 10816222Abstract: A hot water apparatus includes a heat exchanger and a housing. A case of the heat exchanger has a circumferential wall portion, a lower opening, and a flange portion. A case of the housing has a flange portion, a circumferential wall portion, and an upper opening. The circumferential wall portion includes a downwardly-extending wall portion inserted into the inside of the circumferential wall portion through the upper opening. In a state where the downwardly-extending wall portion is arranged inside the circumferential wall portion, the lower opening is located below an upper surface of the flange portion, and a flange connection is formed between the heat exchanger and the housing.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2017Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Assignee: NORITZ CORPORATIONInventors: Wataru Ooshita, Takeshi Oohigashi

Patent number: 5347957Abstract: A water heater with reduced nitrogen oxides output utilizing NO.sub.x reducing water conduits to cool a laminar flame and thereby reduce production of nitrogen oxides, The water heater has a partially aerated burner using a partially premixed combustion method to produce the laminar flame wherein a plurality of NO.sub.x reducing water conduits are disposed above the partially aerated burner in such a manner that water is supplied from a cold water conduit or a hot water conduit of the water heater into the plurality of NO.sub.x reducing water conduits through a water introducing portion by means of branching or serial connections. The water absorbs heat while flowing through the plurality of NO.sub.x reducing water conduits and is returned to the cold water conduit or the hot water conduit through a water receiving portion by means of and branching or serial connections.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1992Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Assignee: Tokyo Gas Company Ltd.Inventor: Tatsuya Sugahara

Patent number: 4751897Abstract: A heating body is provided for a gas water heater in the form of a vertical tubular chamber (1) obstructed at its upper end by a heat exchanger (2) itself having a pipe section (4) through which the water to be heated flows, the rear (6) and side (7,8) portions of the wall of said chamber being formed by a protective metal sheet (11) lined on the inside with a refractory material body (10). The front portion (9) of said wall is a heat conducting metal panel adapted so as to form a capacity or chamber (16) through which the water to be heated flows just upstream of the exchanger.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1987Date of Patent: June 21, 1988Assignee: Chaffoteaux et MauryInventors: Claude Malhere, Jean-Michel Porcher

Patent number: 4421066Abstract: A boiler is disclosed having a horizontal heat exchanger in the form of hollow tubes positioned across the top of a combustion chamber. Vertical heat exchangers are also provided at either ends of the tubes. The vertical heat exchangers are in the form of hollow water reservoirs which extend vertically between the tubes and the burner to form two walls of the combustion chamber.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1982Date of Patent: December 20, 1983Assignee: Teledyne Industries, Inc.Inventor: Manochehr Gordbegli

Patent number: 4310746Abstract: A fluid heating apparatus includes a thermally insulated housing divided by a thermally insulated vertical partition into a flue passage and a heat exchange chamber, the partition having top and bottom openings providing communication between the passage and the upper and lower ends of the chamber. A heat exchanger comprising an array of pipes and fins is arranged in the chamber such that an air plenum is provided above the heat exchanger and a firebox is provided below the heat exchanger. The fire box is lined with firebrick and a plurality of electric heating elements are arranged in the firebox. A fan is provided in the housing for circulating air from the flue passage, through the lower opening to the firebox, over the heating elements, up over the heat exchanger to the plenum and through the top opening to the flue passage. Means are provided for circulating fluid to be heated through the pipes of the heat exchanger to a point of use, e.g. the heat exchanger of a residential air heating system.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1978Date of Patent: January 12, 1982Inventors: Kenneth E. Elkern, Henning H. Nielsen

Patent number: 4016834Abstract: An arrangement for heating a liquid including a boiler, and a condenser located at least in part within the boiler and open at its inlet end which is located within the boiler such that the liquid/gas combination heated in the boiler passes directly into the open inlet of the condenser. The condenser and the boiler may be formed as concentric tubes, the inner tube forming the condenser and the space between the tubes forming the boiler. Valves or the like are provided for determining the direction of fluid flow.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1975Date of Patent: April 12, 1977Assignee: AGA Radiator ABInventor: Poul Wilfred Jensen
