Grate Structure Patents (Class 122/374)
  • Patent number: 10736817
Abstract: A Thermally Isolated Blood Carrier Tray includes a main panel having a plurality of thermally isolated compartments attached thereto. The thermally isolated compartments are arranged in two separate matrices having a plurality of column and rows. Each thermally isolated compartment is thermally isolated from an adjacent thermally isolated compartment. Each thermally isolated compartment maintains its own heat transfer rate without being affected by an adjacent thermally isolated compartments heat transfer rate. The placement of several different storage units having different temperatures into the Thermally Isolated Blood Carrier Tray does not affect the heat transfer rate of any one storage unit in a thermally isolated compartment. The Thermally Isolated Blood Carrier Tray provides a steady and even heat transfer from the storage unit to bring the storage units to an appropriate temperature for storage or transportation.

  • Patent number: 8590465
Abstract: The liquid-cooled grill plate has a carrier and drive design (15), having a separate cooling body (K) that can be placed into said carrier and drive design (15) and permeated by the liquid and having wear plates mounted onto said cooling body (K). The cooling body (K) is a welded design formed by square tube sections (20-26) and profiled sections (27), said design forming continuous elongated recesses (28-30) extending across the entire extension with the exception of the square tube sections (23-26) bridging said recesses (28-30). The carrier design is a ribbed configuration made of planar steel parts that are welded together and the drive unit (15) encloses a hydraulic cylinder-piston unit, which is accommodated in the inside of a square tube (18), said tube being guided displaceably in a tunnel-like breakthrough on said ribbed configuration. Between the wear plates and the cooling body (K) a highly heat-conductive soft silicone film (31) is clamped, which ensures good heat transfer.

  • Patent number: 5381741
Abstract: A system for providing thermal power to an electrical power plant wherein substantially whole trees are supplied as fuel without being processed into small woodchips or chunks. A stacked cooling grate suspends the substantially whole trees within the combustion chamber. The cooling grate is formed by stacking an upper tube and at least one lower tube vertically beneath the upper tube. The tubes of the cooling grate are supplied with water to cool the grate.

  • Patent number: 4534319
Abstract: A wood burning stove includes a water circulating grate within the stove fire chamber which includes horizontally extending, vertically spaced, first and second tubular manifolds. Fuel supporting pipes, including bottom portions which define a "V", physically and fluidly interconnect the manifolds. An inlet pipe extends throughout the majority of the length of the bottom manifold, and the top manifold is connected--through a container having a larger cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of the manifold--to an outlet. The inlet to and outlet from the manifold are connected up to a hydronic space heating system. The container supports a heat exchanger comprising a finned copper tube, so that the heat exchanger extends generally horizontally and within the first manifold. The heat exchanger is connected up to a domestic hot water supply. The container also supports one or more electric resistance heating coils, which heat liquid within the container in emergency situations.

  • Patent number: 4389978
Abstract: A grate characterized in that a fuel supporting and conveying surface is provided comprising at least one elongate channel having an open mouth and a bottom, the or each of said channels having a transverse cross-section which decreases in width in a direction extending away from the open mouth towards the bottom of the channel, air feed opening means to feed air to the interior of the channel at least in the region of the bottom thereof, and means mounting the channel to permit the channel to be vibrated to cause fuel to be conveyed along the channel and longitudinally of the grate.
