Patent number: 5870977Abstract: A boiler in which water is heated by passing through a furnace has a plurality of pipes for carrying water through the furnace. Each pipe is formed from high-carbon steel and is provided with a non-magnetic, electrically conductive inner lining. The lining, which is preferably electrically grounded, may be formed for example from copper metal, copper-filled organosilicon or copper-filled fluoroplastic material. In an alternative, or supplementary, implementation of the invention, the water circulation system of the boiler is provided with a plurality of magnetized granules. The granules, which preferably have a density of between about 0.5.times.10.sup.3 and about 1.0.times.10.sup.3 kg m.sup.-3, are carried through the boiler pipes by the water flow and help to reduce corrosion and scale deposition within the pipes.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1997Date of Patent: February 16, 1999Assignee: New Devices Engineering a.k.a. Ltd.Inventor: Victor Isaevich Adamovski

Patent number: 5193491Abstract: A cleaning system for cleaning the interior of a boiler wherein the system includes a cleaning solution reservoir adapted for mounting within an appliance in which the boiler is housed, and a flow conduit circuit having eductor means operative to draw cleaning solution from the reservoir and pass it to the interior of the associated boiler when water under pressure is introduced into the eductor. The system finds particular application in descaling boilers employed in steam cooking ovens and the like wherein the boilers are relatively inaccessible.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1991Date of Patent: March 16, 1993Assignee: Delaware Capital Formation, Inc.Inventors: G. Patent number: 5152252Abstract: An apparatus controls treatment of water flowing through a boiler and includes a device that monitors the conductivity of the water. A controller opens a drain valve at periodic intervals, and closes the drain valve when the conductivity drops below a defined threshold. A mechanism measures the volume of water that flows into the boiler and a chemical is added to the water when a specified amount of water has flowed into the boiler. Alternatively the application of the chemical can occur at regular intervals of time. The chemical is applied for a user definable period of time. The application of the chemical is suspended when the cessation of water flow into the boiler is detected.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1992Date of Patent: October 6, 1992Assignee: Autotrol CorporationInventors: Michael P. Bolton, James A. Rodrian, Donald R. Janke

Patent number: 4903642Abstract: An apparatus for controlling injection of a chemical liquid in which the chemical liquid is basically injected into a boiler (1) filled with can water by actuating a chemical liquid supplying means (5) for a basic injection period (T2). After the basic injection period (T2) has passed, an accumulative operating period (T3) of water supplying means (4) is measured. During a period for which the accumulative operating period (T3) is smaller than the basic injection period (T2), the supply of chemical liquid is inhibited. When the accumulative operating period (T3) becomes greater than the basic injection period (T2), the chemical liquid is injected at a constant ratio to an amount of water supplied.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1988Date of Patent: February 27, 1990Assignee: Ebara CorporationInventors: Nobuhiro Tamaru, Tadao Jujita
