Damper-controlled Patents (Class 122/480)
  • Patent number: 10072531
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a hybrid power generation system using a supercritical CO2 cycle, which includes a first working fluid circuit configured to produce electric power by a first working fluid heated in a boiler, and a second working fluid circuit configured to produce electric power by a second working fluid, and the first and second working fluid circuits share the boiler. The hybrid power generation system can remove an air preheater of a thermal power generation system and separate heat exchange units for exhaust gas and air after combustion, so as to utilize the heat exchange units as a heat source and a cooling source in a supercritical CO2 cycle. Consequently, it is possible to improve power generation efficiency by recovering the leakage loss of the air preheater.

  • Patent number: 9671105
Abstract: A continuous flow steam generator includes a combustion chamber, having substantially rectangular cross-section and a lower and upper combustion chamber region, and has a horizontal gas pass connected downstream of the combustion chamber on the flue-gas side. Gas-tight and gas-permeable peripheral walls of the generator are completely or partly made of steam generator pipes welded together and through which a flow medium can flow, and collectors are arranged and connected to the steam generator pipes such that groups of steam generator pipes connected in parallel form heating surface segments of the peripheral walls. First passage collectors are arranged and connected such that the flow medium from first heating surface segments of two parallel first peripheral walls of the lower combustion chamber region are mixed with the fluid medium from second heating surface segments of second peripheral walls, standing perpendicular to the first peripheral walls, of the upper combustion chamber region.

  • Patent number: 8881761
Abstract: A steam supply passage incorporates a pressure reducing valve and the passage further incorporates a steam ejector downstream of the pressure reducing valve. A suction portion of the steam ejector is connected to a re-evaporation tank for re-evaporating steam condensate via a suction passage. Passage steam of the pressure reducing valve is used as a driving steam for the steam ejector. In operation, re-evaporated steam within the re-evaporation tank is suctioned by the steam ejector to be mixed with the passage steam. The suction passage incorporates a check valve for preventing reverse flow of steam to the re-evaporation tank.

  • Publication number: 20100192876
Abstract: A boiler according to the present invention is a boiler configured to make combustion gas originating from combustion in a burner (101) flow from a furnace (102) and pass through a super heater (SH) (104) and an evaporation tube bank (105). The boiler includes a downstream shield plate (11A) that is slidable in the vertical direction of the super heater (104) at a position downstream of the combustion gas flowing above the super heater (104), thereby regulating the flow rate of combustion gas entering the upper space A of the super heater (104). By regulating the flow rate of bypass gas (12) with the downstream shield plate (11A) and in turn regulating the flow rate of mainstream gas (13), the temperature of steam output from the super heater (104) is controlled.

  • Patent number: 6748880
Abstract: A flue gas passage arrangement for a steam generator which permits adjustment of the heat transfer effectiveness of a final bank of heat exchanger surface to control a temperature of the flue gas flowing through and exiting from the flue gas passage and conveyed to a downstream NOx reduction device having a minimum operating temperature. The NOx reduction device is advantageously an SCR. Economizer heating surface is located within the flue gas passage, and a baffle plate extends through the flue gas passage and creates two flue gas paths there through. The economizer heating surface may be a single, common bank having a section located in both gas paths, or in only one gas path. Alternatively, two separate banks of economizer heating surface may be employed. A variable position damper is provided in one gas path, either below or above one section.

  • Patent number: 4739729
Abstract: A coal-fired steam generator that has a water-steam circulation and a low pressure-heat carrier-circulation which, via a heater that is disposed in the flue gas flow of the steam generator and that has at least one heat transfer surface, absorbs heat from the flue gas flow and conveys this heat to a process that utilizes heat, especially a gas turbine process in conjunction with a coal-combination unit having a steam turbine connected in the water-steam circulation. To optimize the position of the heater for the low pressure-heat carrier-circulation, especially a sodium circulation, there are provided at least two flue gas passes that are connected in parallel with a combustion chamber of the steam generator, whereby the flue gas flow coming from the combustion chamber is distributed to these flue gas passes, at least one of which is associated with a water-steam circulation, while the other is associated with the low pressure-heat carrier-circulation.

  • Patent number: 4612879
Abstract: In a water tube boiler comprising a housing enclosing tubes bent to form vertical chambers successively traversed by rising hot combustion gases, the tubes being connected at the bottom to the interior of the jacket of a jacketed cylindrical combustion chamber, which jacket is supplied with cold water, and at the top to a steam manifold, the manifold and jacketed chamber project beyond the housing with a downcomer outside the housing connecting the top of the jacket and the lowest part of the manifold, thereby permitting the boiler to operate with a shallow level of water in the manifold, speeding up circulation of water and its heating, and permitting substantially dry steam to be discharged from the upper manifold. The chambers may include baffles which are angled so that the hot gas hits them at an angle less than 90.degree. so as to be deflected thereby in the direction of its advance, thereby avoiding hot spots.
