Combined Valve And Sparker Operating Patents (Class 123/152)
  • Patent number: 9863639
Abstract: A method for controlling a gas-fired appliance is presented, wherein the gas-fired appliance includes a combustor, at least one flow-regulating valve, and a solenoid valve which are all interconnected, and adaptive to low or no power supplied to the gas-fired appliances, including the steps of: using the solenoid valve to block fuel gas, determining whether the power returns to normal, and if not, maintaining the solenoid valve block, and if so, closing the flow-regulating valve to thereby block the fuel gas such that the fuel gas flow is paused when the solenoid valve is open during a next ignition try.

  • Patent number: 9702562
Abstract: A combustion systems and components for rotary ramjet engines. An injection system, optionally stratified for ease of engine startup, provides an air and fuel mixture to a combustion chamber. An ignition system ignites the mixture. A flameholding system may be positioned for communication with the combustion chamber to force an ignited flow of the air and fuel mixture toward a center of rotation within the ramjet engine. The ramjet engine may have a diverging stator for improved exhaust efficiency. The ignition may take place in the engine air intake. Alternatively, the ignition may take place within the combustion chamber using a dual-hub electrically charged system. An impulse turbine may use recirculation of injected fuel to cool a rim-rotor and/or to reduce windage on the rim-rotor. A sealing system may reduce gas leaks from a fuel conduit into the engine air intake.

  • Patent number: 8475150
Abstract: The invention relates to an internal gear pump for a brake system, in the pump housing of which an internally toothed ring gear and a pinion meshing with the toothing of the ring gear are pivotally supported about parallel axes. As a result the toothing thereof limits an approximately crescent-shaped tapering annular space, in which a filler piece supported toward the intake side of the pump is arranged. The circumferential sides of the filler piece are bent in accordance with the addendum circle of the ring gear toothing or of the pinion toothing. The sides rest against several tooth tips in a sealing manner under a spring force. According to the invention, one of the two circumferential sides of the filler piece is formed by a radially resilient circumferential wall, which is nestled against the tooth tips of the pinion or the ring gear due to the deflection based on the inherent spring force thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090314238
Abstract: The combination of a piston with an integrated spark plug to be used in an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The plug-in-piston configuration allows for maximum combustion and fuel efficiency as well as increased power output. Further, the configuration minimizes the release of unburned fuel and pollutants into the atmosphere. A method is also disclosed by which electrical energy is communicated to a spark plug.

  • Patent number: 7073471
Abstract: A spark plug adapter allows for installation into the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine of an improved high-performance spark plug of configuration considerably different from that which the cylinder head was manufactured to accept. This is accomplished without disassembly of the engine or machine work on the cylinder head, and provides for a considerably improved smoothness of operation of and power production from the engine. An alternative embodiment of the inventive spark plug adapter provides for a compression release valve to communication with the combustion chamber of the engine, considerably easing starting for the engine, and still without disassembly of the engine or machine work on the cylinder head. A third embodiment of the inventive spark plug adapter provides for improved sealing of combustion gases.

  • Patent number: 6006711
Abstract: A spark plug and an engine valve member are integrally combined in the same structure by forming an ignition gap between a first electrode rod which is the center electrode incorporated in an engine valve body and a second electrode portion which is the grounding electrode formed to be integral with or incorporated in the engine valve body. The resulting structure has the features of both a spark plug and an engine valve and is advantageously compact and applicable to gasoline engines in general.

  • Patent number: 5363651
Abstract: An improved internal combustion engine is disclosed having no rotating crank shaft. Each piston rod of the engine is connected to a hydraulic piston and cylinder the output of which drives the rotating output shaft of a hydraulic motor. A take off from the shaft of the hydraulic motor drives an air compressor which feeds compressed air to the combustion chamber through the latter's intake valve. Fuel is mixed with the compressed air before entering the combustion chamber and a conventional spark plug and coil is employed to ignite the fuel/compressed air mixture. The compressed air also is used to actuate the intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder through a solenoid controller. A computer is adapted to send signals to each valve solenoid to control its movement and to each spark plug coil in response to a throttle input and a piston displacement input applied to the computer.

  • Patent number: 4111178
Abstract: The valve seat and cooperating movable valve member of each fuel injector of an associated fuel injected-spark ignited internal combustion engine are connected in series with a resistor across a direct current potential source. The valve seat and movable valve member provide a pair of normally closed electrical contacts which are operated to the electrical circuit open condition upon the initiation of actuation of the movable valve member to inject fuel. Upon each operation of these normally closed electrical contacts to the electrical circuit open condition, an electrical signal is produced thereacross and applied to an associated electronic ignition system which, in response thereto, produces an ignition spark-creating potential. Each ignition spark initiating potential is directed to the spark plug of the engine cylinder into which fuel is being injected by the actuated fuel injector.
