Abstract: A valve apparatus for an internal combustion engine, the valve apparatus including: a main part having a wall section defining a valve cavity extending along a longitudinal length of the main part and an opening located in the wall section of the main part, the opening flow connected to the combustion chamber; an outer part configured and arranged so as to be reciprocally located in the valve cavity, the outer part having a wall section defining an inner passage extending along a longitudinal axis thereof; an inner part having a first end situated outside of the cavity and a second end situated within the cavity and the inner passage of the outer part, the inner part having a wall section defining an inner passage, a first opening at the first end, and one or more openings in that part of the walled section which is situated within the cavity.
Abstract: A rotary piston pump for fluids, wherein the ends of the housing are configured so as to provide reduced pressure differentials between opposite sides of the rotor end disks.
Abstract: A combustion chamber opening toward a cylinder head is provided on a top surface of a piston, and this combustion chamber comprises a first volume having an inclined surface and a second volume further recessed from the first volume toward a pin boss. Fuel spray F from a fuel injection nozzle is injected toward an inner peripheral wall section of the second volume in a former stage of fuel injection and toward the inclined surface of the first volume in a later stage of fuel injection, and the percentage of the fuel injection period in the former stage against the total fuel injection period is set to the range from 40% to 70%.
Abstract: A rotary piston for use in pumps or motors, the piston having a cylindrical rotor with radially movable vanes rotating within a housing, the movement of the vanes controlled by pins of the vanes travelling in races in the housing.
Abstract: A coaxial rotary valve mechanism for an internal combustion engine that incorporates two coaxial, cylinder shaped rotors in the cylinder head, rotating with speed ratio of 2:1 so that ports in their surfaces align at the appropriate segments of the operating cycle to function as air intake valves. The outer rotor further comprises a recess on its surface which has plurality of functions. During the compression stroke said recess forms a pre-combustion chamber between said rotor and the cylinder head, and during the exhaust stroke brings the cylinder into the open registry with the exhaust port allowing combustion gases to be exhausted. During the compression stroke the liquid fuel is injected into the pre-combustion chamber containing exhaust gases, while said pre-combustion chamber is in closed registry with the cylinder.
Abstract: A fuel injection and precombustion chamber arrangement for internal combustion engines comprising a pair of concentric poppet valves. The outermost valve is arranged to open and close the precombustion chamber to the internal combustion engine cylinder. The innermost valve is arranged to open and close a chamber, formed in the outermost valve body, to the cylinder and to place a fuel-filled annular groove on the spool of the innermost valve in communication with the precombustion chamber and the chamber in the outermost valve such as to mix air flowing through the chamber of the outermost valve from the cylinder fuel and inject into the precombustion chamber the fuel contained in the annular groove in an atomized state.
