Pivoted Link Connected To Pump Rack Patents (Class 123/373)
  • Patent number: 4817575
Abstract: A fuel injection pump of the distributor pump type having a pump piston driven for simultaneous reciprocation and rotation, the supply quantity of which that is effective for injection is controlled by the opening of a relief conduit of the pump work chamber in that with the aid of a mechanical regulator an annular slide is moved into variable stroke positions on the pump piston. Additionally, for an electronic regulation of the total injection quantity, a pre-stroke (hv) is provided, which is determined by a first valve and which, under the control of a second, electrically controlled valve connected to the output side of the first valve, is added to the basic supply stroke in a variably effective manner in terms of injection. Thus the fuel injection quantity can be regulated within the context of the fuel injection quantity difference resulting from the pre-stroke.

Abstract: A control rack for driving the fuel injection quantity control member of an injection pump which supplies fuel to a diesel engine is driven by a magnetic actuator mechanism. The position of the control rack is transmitted to a position sensor via a tie bar which is pivotally supported by a support shaft. The sensor detects a signal corresponding to an actual amount of fuel to be injected. The support shaft is supported by a control member which is pivotally supported. The control member sets a reference position of the support shaft, and hence, sets the relative positional relationship between the control rack and the position sensor. A portion of the control member extends outside a housing, so that the reference position of the tie bar can be corrected outside the housing. The actuator mechanism is controlled by an instruction from a control circuit which calculates an optimal amount of fuel to be injected.

Abstract: An rpm governor of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed. The rpm governor includes a governor spring, which at one end engages a governor lever of the fuel injection pump and at the other end engages a correction lever. The other end of the correction lever is engaged by a correction spring, which is coupled at its other end with an adjusting member secured eccentrically relative to an adjusting shaft on an adjusting lever. The adjusting lever is connected with the adjusting shaft and is variable in its position by means of this shaft. The correction lever is supported between a roller and an adjusting gear wheel, which engages a rack zone of the correction lever. By rotating the adjusting gear wheel, the lever arms associated with the governor spring and the correction spring can be varied, thus varying the resultant spring force or spring constant engaging the governor lever in order to establish the degree of proportionality of the rpm governor.

Abstract: A fuel injection rate limiting device for diesel engine aimed at improving engine performance on starting as well as in operation under overload through impartation of an increased tenacity, wherein a limiter means is provided to check a governor lever to thereby limit the fuel injection rate under the full-load condition but at the same time the governor lever is allowed to continue shifting within reason and gradually against a torque spring in such direction as to increase the fuel injection rate so that the fuel injection rate is gradually increased as the engine speed (rpm.) falls under overload. Moreover, on starting of the engine, the governor lever is caused to shift extensively against the torque spring as well as the starting spring in the fuel injection rate increasing direction for improvement of the engine's starting performance.

Abstract: A liquid fuel pumping apparatus comprises a fuel pump having an axially movable quantity control member connected to one end of a first lever which is pivoted about a fixed axis. An engine speed responsive device acts on the lever and a second lever is provided and pivoted about the said axis. A governor spring acts upon the second lever in the opposite direction to the force exerted on the first lever by the speed responsive device. Means is provided which acts to cause separation of the levers with a force which decreases as the levers move towards each other and a stop is provided to limit the movement of the second lever under the action of the governor spring. The aforesaid means is operative when the engine is at rest to cause separation of the levers to move the control member to a position at which the pump will supply an excess of fuel for starting purposes.
