Patent number: 11015555Abstract: A delivery device for the fuel of an internal combustion engine has a fuel tank (4) from which at least one fuel pump (14, 18) delivers fuel via a fuel supply line (10) and via at least one fuel filter (12, 16) to a fuel consumer (2). The consumer (2) is connected to the fuel tank (4) via a fuel return line (20). A control device (24) is connected between the supply line (10) and the return line (20). The control device establishes a fuel-conveying connection (80) between the return line (20) and the supply line (10) when the temperature in the fuel tank (4) falls below a predeterminable threshold temperature and at a predeterminable threshold pressure in the return line (20).Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2018Date of Patent: May 25, 2021Assignee: HYDAC FLUIDCARECENTER GMBHInventors: Richard Eberle, Thomas Scholl, Jonas Haupenthal

Patent number: 9690305Abstract: A self-contained thermal mixing valve includes a cap defining a bore, a relief spring and abutment plate within the bore, and a temperature responsive actuator arranged to generate an actuation force against said abutment plate when exposed to a predetermined increase in temperature. A slide is secured to the actuator and moves with the actuator in response to temperature changes. The slide defines a mixing chamber surrounding the temperature sensitive part of the actuator and includes a fluid flow slot axially aligned with the temperature sensitive part of the actuator. The slide is configured to move along a bore which includes axially offset fluid flow inlets, causing the fluid flow slot to vary fluid flow from the fluid flow inlets into the mixing chamber to produce a mixed outflow within a predetermined temperature range. The relief spring provides mechanical relief to the actuator in over-temperature situations.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2014Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: Rostra Vernatherm, LLCInventors: Kevin W. Publication number: 20090301443Abstract: An engine fuel feeding device that is small-sized and easy to start. A cutoff valve is disposed upstream from a primary regulator provided to a fuel passage from a fuel feeding source to an engine. The cutoff valve is provided integrally with the primary regulator. When the gas engine is stopped, the fuel feeding passage is blocked in front of the primary regulator, gas fuel does not flow in the downstream direction that includes the primary regulator, and the ability of the gas engine to start is enhanced.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2009Publication date: December 10, 2009Applicant: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Hiroaki Kojima, Masanori Fujinuma, Haruo Tsusaka, Tsukasa Ebisudani

Publication number: 20080115772Abstract: An electronics module configured for use within a vehicle fuel tank. The electronics module includes a fluid encapsulant, and electronics immersed in the fluid encapsulant. Preferably, the electronics module includes a sealed housing for carrying the fluid encapsulant and electronics therein, and the fluid encapsulant includes a base fluid and additives to the base fluid to neutralize aggressive compounds in any fuel that may enter the sealed housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2006Publication date: May 22, 2008Inventor: Peter P. Patent number: 7040287Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel metering device comprising a fuel chamber, a fuel inlet which can be opened and closed and leads to the fuel chamber, and at least one fuel outlet leading from the fuel chamber to a suction channel of an internal combustion engine. Part of a wall of the fuel chamber consists of a first element which can be moved according to a pressure difference between a pressure in the fuel chamber and an ambient air pressure, the element being coupled to a closing element for opening and closing the fuel inlet. The said fuel metering device enables a quantity of fuel, which is supplied to the suction channel for a pre-defined operating position of the internal combustion engine, to be automatically regulated according to the ambient air pressure.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2002Date of Patent: May 9, 2006Assignee: Wacker Construction Equipment AGInventor: Michael Steffen

Publication number: 20020078929Abstract: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines is proposed in which gelation of the fuel is avoided by a fuel preheating that operates as a function of temperature. A pressure regulating valve of a common rail can be cooled as well.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2001Publication date: June 27, 2002Applicant: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Peter Schueler

Patent number: 5014673Abstract: A fuel feed device for an internal combustion engine including a main fuel system including a charge forming device that supplies fuel, air requirements to the engine for most running conditions. An automatically operated auxiliary supply system is provided for supplying additional fuel and, in some instances, air to the engine in response to specific running conditions such as cold starting or cold enrichment. This system includes an automatically operated valve for controlling the fuel discharge. A manual override valve is provided that will permit manual selection of fuel enrichment or will shut off the fuel enrichment regardless of the condition of the automatic valve.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1989Date of Patent: May 14, 1991Assignee: Sanshin Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroaki Fujimoto, Masaki Okazaki

Patent number: 4237849Abstract: A pressure regulator for use in a fuel supply system such as might be found in a vehicle where fuel from a fuel tank is conveyed by a fuel pump to a carburetor is disclosed. The pressure regulator maintains the fuel pressure at the fuel pump outlet at a preferred level relative to atmospheric pressure and includes a regulator housing with a fuel inlet coupled to the fuel pump outlet and a fuel outlet coupled to the fuel system upstream of the fuel pump.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1978Date of Patent: December 9, 1980Inventor: Albert S.
