Separate Carburetor For High Load Patents (Class 123/582)
  • Patent number: 7806212
Abstract: A vehicle, such as a motorcycle, includes an air intake assembly having a fixed funnel for introducing air to an intake port of an engine, and a movable funnel that selectively cooperates with the fixed funnel to introduce air to the intake port. The vehicle also includes a rotary shaft and a parallel linkage located on a first side of the movable funnel for movably supporting the movable funnel, and a drive source, such as a motor, located on a second side of the movable funnel generally opposite the first side for driving the parallel linkage. In one arrangement, the rotary shaft and parallel linkage are located on a forward side of the movable funnel and the drive source is located on the rearward side of the movable funnel.

  • Patent number: 6578562
Abstract: An internal combustion engine having a crankcase, a cylinder connected to the crankcase, a compressed air assisted fuel injection system connected between the crankcase and the cylinder, and a reciprocating piston head located in the cylinder. The improvement comprises a fuel delivery system having two carburetors that switch delivery of fuel to two different locations based upon the speed of the engine. The system uses an accumulator with piston ported reflected compression wave delivery of scavenged compressed air to deliver fuel at a wide open throttle position.

  • Patent number: 5799628
Abstract: A two stroke cycle reciprocating piston internal combustion engine having horizontally opposed cylinders and pistons, scotch yokes and self adjusting sliding blocks for the interface between the scotch yokes and crankpins, and secondary cylindrical pistons to maintain the scotch yokes in perpendicular vertical alignment with the crankpins. The secondary cylindrical pistons also operate as valves to open exhaust ports. A supercharger forces air through intake ports and into the main cylinders, then into secondary cylinders, and scavenges the exhaust gases through the exhaust ports. There is no carburetor and no adjustable distributor but rather ignition signals within its operating range, at a certain angle before top dead center. In addition, a capacitive discharge ignition system using multiple transformer ignition coils for each cylinder and rail spark plugs with multiple sets of rails to ignite very lean air/fuel mixtures.
