  • Patent number: 11460264
Abstract: An anti-chop system for mechanical paintball markers includes an optical sensor in the breech that detects presence of a properly seated paintball in the breech for launch. When such a paintball is not detected, a control circuit communicates with an actuatable structure that physically communicates with a paintball marker component that moves as part of the firing and launch of a paintball. For example, such an actuatable structure is a lever arm that communicates with the bolt or trigger to prevent the firing operation of the paintball marker when a paintball is not ready for launch.

  • Patent number: 9803953
Abstract: A mechanical paintball gun has a first operation chamber and a second operation chamber for receiving a firing piston and a hammer, respectively. The firing piston and the hammer move simultaneously between a first position status and a second position status. The second operation chamber is connected with a high-pressure gas source and has a normally closed valve pack. When the hammer moves to the second position status, the valve pack becomes open and allows high-pressure gas to pass therethrough to enter the first operation chamber for shooting paintballs. The second operation chamber contains therein a slidable member and a resistance device. The slidable member is linked with the hammer, and the slidable member pushes the resistance device. With the resistance device slowing down the slidable member to delay a cycle time of a shooting process, paintballs can be fed in time to enable continuous and stable shooting.

Abstract: A ball tossing apparatus includes a support frame and a plurality of launch devices fixed to the support frame and arranged in a two-dimensional array. The launch devices include cylinders having a spring fixed therein, with a ball carrier fixed to the spring. The balls are retained in a loaded position (springs compressed) and then upon activation of the launch devices are launched vertically into the air to the sports player. In another embodiment, the launch devices include a rotating lever which is acted on by a biasing member to launch the ball vertically from the cylinder. A method for launching the balls includes the steps of loading the balls into a two dimensional array, and then launching the balls according to a launch sequence. An electronic control system for use with the ball tossing apparatus includes a launch module for launching the loaded balls in the plurality of launch devices according to a launch sequence.

  • Patent number: 7886730
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the position of the paintball of a paintball gun includes an induction plate responsive to electrostatic capacity. The induction plate is positioned at a corresponding side of the ball-falling tube within the firing area of the gun barrel, and the induction plate consists of a conductive terminal piece and equivalent electrostatic capacity. An insulated body is interposed between the terminal piece and the gun barrel. Besides, an electrostatic capacity detection circuit is electrically coupled to the induction plate for detecting the change of the electrostatic capacity of the induction plate. Moreover, the signal of the change of the electrostatic capacity is transmitted to the paintball-firing circuit for a reliable detection if the paintball accurately reaches the firing area such that the push tube may be actuated in accordance with this information. In this way, an accurate detection is ensured without being disturbed by other light sources.

Abstract: A method of firing a paintball marker and dual trigger mechanism for a paintball marker are disclosed. The dual switch includes a first and a second trigger position sensors configured and arranged to detect the position of said trigger. A circuit is operatively connected to the first and second trigger position sensors and the projectile firing mechanism of the paintball marker. The circuit is configured to initiate a firing operation with said projectile firing mechanism when the first and second trigger position sensors indicate that the trigger has been depressed. The method includes the steps of detecting the position of the trigger with the first trigger position sensor and the second trigger position sensor and initiating a firing operation when the first and second trigger position sensors indicate that the trigger has been depressed.

Abstract: An improved bolt construction for use in a paintball marker assembly is provided. The improved bolt assembly is generally formed to include a cut-out in the top surface thereof along its leading edge. The cut-out has a size and shape that functions in an manner that prevents the bolt from clipping or otherwise damaging a second incoming paintball projectile as the bolt reciprocates forward to ready a first paintball that is already loaded into the breech in preparation for launch. As the bolt is moved forward to push the first paintball into a position that is ready for launch, the leading edge of the cutout passes beneath the second paintball such that the top surface of the cutout impacts the bottom of the second paintball to push the second paintball upwardly as it advances, thereby clearing it from the breech and preventing the bolt from clipping the second paintball.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a device and method for wireless communication between a paintball marker or gun and it's associated paintball loading device. This wireless communication, whether bidirectional or unidirectional, allows for the transmission of “load” commands and various other useful information between the paintball marker and the paintball feeding device. When the “load” command, which is much more responsive than the “passive” communication found in the prior art, is wirelessly received by the paintball feeding device, the paintball feeding device loads a singular or plurality of paintballs into the paintball marker of appropriate conduit.
