Patent number: 4179613Abstract: A bow draw indicator and sighting device mounted on a bow provides signals which enable the archer to adjust the bow vertically and horizontally to assure proper aim. Also an arrow draw indicator signal is provided which signal operates only when the bow is in proper vertical position. The device is battery powered. The bow draw and the vertical signal is either an audible signal or a light emitting diode. The horizontal (elevation) signal is in the sight and comprises light emitting diodes at the upper and lower portions of the sight. The device is small and light enough to be easily mounted on the bow and to have utility for both hunting and target purposes and can be used with aluminum or other electrically conductive arrows.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1978Date of Patent: December 18, 1979Inventor: James T. Patent number: 4116194Abstract: A peep sight having a body with a sighting bore therethrough. The body receives a bow string and is connected by an elastic cord to the bow. When the bow string is in a drawn position the sight bore in the body of the peep sight is substantially horizontal. When the bow string is in a relaxed condition the bore is in an angled position with the longitudinal extension of the bow string. An elastic cord, such as a piece of flexible tubing, has one end fitted onto a pin extending from the body of the peep sight and a second end fitted onto a block which itself is adapted to be secured to an archery bow. As the bow string is drawn upon mounting of the body on the bow string and securing of the block to the archery bow, the elastic cord stretches to exert a force upon the body to align a sighting bore or "peep" therethrough with a bow-mounted bow sight.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1976Date of Patent: September 26, 1978Assignee: Fine-Line, Inc.Inventor: Kenneth D. Patent number: 4026032Abstract: A bow sight mechanism mounted on an archer's bow above the handle and arrow guide and having a plurality of individually adjustable sighting pins, each pin having a sighting bead on one end thereof. A block guide member attaches to the bow and has a vertical slot for slidably receiving the sighting pins therethrough. Each sighting pin carries an attachment to permit adjustability of the pin vertically for range and horizontally for windage. The pins may be locked against the vertical movement for setting in the range while still adjustable horizontally for windage corrections. A resilient washer is used against one side of the slid block member interposed between a nut member on the opposite side of the guide block member whereby tightening the nut member against the guide block member will force the resilient washer against the slide block member and pin and cause locking of the pin in a selected vertical position on the slide block member.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1975Date of Patent: May 31, 1977Inventor: Jimmie Thomas Smith
